The coming weeks will answer one very important question about John McCain: does he want to be the Republican Party's presidential nominee or does he want to be president?

Yea, but how do you feel about egg custard?
Come on Sky don’t you think it is an important question since we are all accused of being haters and I do hate egg custard.

I would NEVER, EVER take out a full page add in a paper, as the Evangelicals did and spew HATE and Bigotry all over as the Evangelicals did.

Do you have any details? Links? I really don't think it is fair to paint Evangelicals with such a broad brush. Dr. Dobson, for instance, would not even endorse Hucksterbee until Romeny dropped out of the race.

Huckabee pretty well cooked his own goose when he lost South Carolina, which should have been a cakewalk. Romney pulled out his campaign organization there to clear the deck for Fred Thompson who, sadly, was unable to take advantage of it. So it was essentially a contest between McCain and Huckabee. And Huckabee still lost on evangelical home turf.

Yes, there are screaming moonbats among the evangelicals. But they are nowhere near a majority. It may seem that way because the moonbat clique makes up in volume what they lack in numbers. But it ain't what it seems.

Most of the evangelicals I know are decent, respectful people like Dr. Dobson.

I don't like it.

I also cannot stand these. They smell like....well...I won't say.

Whenever they are served at parties, I have to question the sanity of the host or hostess.

Romney? He is a Liberal, and his LDS crowd went over the top in an "Identity Politics" orgy of Jesse Jackson proportions.

I think you are projecting here. I don't recall an LDS "Identity Politics orgy" at FR, but there sure has seemed to be a lot of over the top vituperation directed at Romney under the guise that he was a "liberal", when it appeared to be animated more by anti-Mormon animus than by political ideology.

I'm neither Mormon nor Evangelical, so I don't have a dog in the religion fight either way, but that's what I see.

Thanks for your honest remarks. Being a Mormon married to a Catholic, I appreciate your position. I couldn’t ask for a better husband.

Hi yellow. I don't wish to argue with you, or disparage you in any way. You sound like you have a great marriage.

But, I am perplexed by something in your statement.

How do you expect to get to Mormon heaven with a husband who is not temple worthy and one who cannot call the secret name from behind the veil?

If you don’t believe the chant in #38:

“I find the theology flawed. I find MR to be a liberal, I do not hate liberals.”

Is childish - more power to you!

I findit childish and your reply as well.

Huckabee promotes ‘open door’ policy at LULAC convention

Thursday, Jun 30, 2005

By Wesley Brown
Arkansas News Bureau

LITTLE ROCK - In a impassioned speech before hundreds of influential Hispanic civil rights leaders from across the nation, Gov. Mike Huckabee told a captive audience Wednesday that America is great because it has always opened it doors up to people seeking a better way of life.

Web special: Dumond case revisited

A reminder of Huckabee’s role in his freedom

Arkansas Staff

Updated 9/1/2005

Editor’s note, Sept. 1, 2005: Wayne Dumond, convicted of rape in Arkansas and murder in Missouri, died of apparent natural causes in prison Tuesday.

The occasion prompts us to republish Murray Waas’ prize-winning article for the Arkansas Times in 2002 about the extraordinary steps Gov. Mike Huckabee took to help win Dumond’s freedom. He has since blamed others for Dumond’s release to kill again, but his actions over many years demonstrated his support for Dumond and, ultimately, the instrumental role he played in the parole board’s decision to free him.

Who can forget this DEVIOUS action?

http://blog.washingtonpost.com/the-trail/2008/01/03/huckabee_airs_antiromney_ad.html

Ole slippery tongue Mike, says, “No, I won’t air that negative ad.” So what does the liar DO? AIRS it to the press over and over again. What a sneaky liar - airing it anyway to show the negative ad and get PRESS promotion of the ad. Sure he saved a few sheckles by letting the PRESS talk about his ad and shop it around.

“Huckabee pretty well cooked his own goose when he lost South Carolina, which should have been a cakewalk. Romney pulled out his campaign organization there to clear the deck for Fred Thompson who, sadly, was unable to take advantage of it. So it was essentially a contest between McCain and Huckabee. And Huckabee still lost on evangelical home turf.”

Mike didn’t have a chance in hell. It was only in his mind. He did well in the south and that was it. He’s no Christian. He ‘s a lying humanist. He dragged it out to chilidhsly just beat Mitt by a FEW points months later. Mike has no class. He’s petty. He’s tacky. Thank GOD he’s gone from this election. By the next election others will know more about him and he won’t win anyway. I simply despise religious hypocrites like MIKE Huckabee.

“Yes, there are screaming moonbats among the evangelicals. But they are nowhere near a majority. It may seem that way because the moonbat clique makes up in volume what they lack in numbers. But it ain’t what it seems.”

There are enough that have some $$$ to denigrate legitimate Christians.

“Most of the evangelicals I know are decent, respectful people like Dr. Dobson.”

You need to get around more. Most of them are holier than thou hypocrites. It’s embarassing. It’s too bad about Dr. Dobson ... he WAITED till Mitt willingly dropped out and then endorsed the creep, Mike. He knew Mitt was the better candidate but didn’t have the guts to endorse him.

What terribly sad and unnerving is the fact that these Evanglicals are so dumbed down and easily influenced. If you check the Huckster’s record, he was WORSE than a Demoncrat. He’s a socialist and preaches Humanism and they don’t know the difference.

McCain picks Romney — I judge McCain as completely deaf and out of touch with the Christian base, and sit it out.

You need do nothing more than correlate the posting history of many who trash Romney on these threads and and a large number of them who also are on other threads trashing the LDS Church to conclude a significant factor in the trashing of Romney is based largely upon his religious affiliation.

All this fuss and muss and yip-yip-yapping over Mitt Romney. We sound like a bunch of puppy dogs.

Well Mitt is It.

Mitt is going to be the difference between a reasonably conservative ticket winning the White House or a flat-out Marxist nightmare that we will get with Obama.

McPain can win with Mitt. Not that we want McPain but Mitt will certainly take some of the edge off our pain. Consider Mitt a pain killer or a McPain killer, if you will.

Besides, when McPain kicks the bucket (of natural causes, of course), who better than Mitt to step into the Oval office and restore some conservatism.

Mitt is It. After all, who else but Mitt? Ronald Reagan is dead and Fred Thompson wants to get back into television dramas.

Great list. I had no doubt Hucksterbee was an asshat, but I thought that he at least tried to impersonate a gentleman after Romney dropped out. Your first link was dated April 7 and I was traveling then, so missed this hissy fit.

I still have this sneaking suspicion that, businessman that he is, Romney didn't bail so quickly without getting something in return. And that something was the assurance that Hucksterbee wouldn't get the VP slot.

As I said in another post, the irony is that the religious bigots may end up being the very people who push McCain to pick Romney just so he can distance himself from them.

No. I certainly don't see that post as the over the top caricature you posted:

With this childish chant: MR is a liberal, MR is a liberal, MR is a liberal...

When you go over board to make a point, sometimes you are your own worst enemy.

Okay........

I expect when Joseph Smith sees him, he will tell him that he had the SAME problem!

It turns out that the TV ad attacking Romney as "dishonest" -- which Huckabee vowed not to air -- actually ran three times in Iowa on New Year's Eve.

OH! The humanity!!!!

(Why are we re-fighting the primaries?

McCain is the WINNER of them.
