The father of a 12-year-old girl who tried to keep a young man from groping his daughter at a popular Shakopee amusement park was seriously hurt late on July 4 after he was allegedly kicked and stomped by a group of men in an attack police called "brutal."
The attack on the unnamed man, which happened just outside Valleyfair Amusement Park, resulted in charges against at least six Twin Cities-area men. They were among several people the initial attacker called on his cell phone to summon them to join the assault.
The group beat up the father as his wife and daughter looked on, police said. The man was seriously injured and unconscious when police arrived.
"We see assaults, but that's brutal," Shakopee police Sgt. Jay Arras said.
Arras said the man and his family were leaving Valleyfair shortly before midnight on July 4 when a man "tried to grab the 12-year-old girl in a sexual manner" near the park exit, the father later told police.

The thugs have a habit of "sticking out" if they come into a neighborhood such as mine. Our $85,000 plus overtime police force are on them from the moment a (white liberal Democrat in my area) picks up the phone.
Trust me, its rather difficult for them to just "pass through" without notice around here. I say this as someone who lives in an affluent (limo liberal) community that has the lovely city of Trenton bordering us to the south.
NYC did have the problem of the "have-nots" coming into the better nabes to loot, but more aggressive policing truly has worked in that case.
Nevertheless, I wish this state wouldn't make me a felon for wanting to protect myself. When I lived in Florida or Washington, I knew that if the thugs decided to jack me or mug me, they would be facing a .40 before they even said "your money!"
Even St. Cloud is crawling with Somalis....and they’re bowing to them.
There are monsters among us. Lots of them.

Lately, though, a new and unexpected pattern has emerged, taking criminologists by surprise. While crime rates in large cities stayed flat, homicide rates in many midsize cities (with populations of between 500,000 and 1 million) began increasing, sometimes by as much as 20percent a year. In 2006, the Police Executive Research Forum, a national police group surveying cities from coast to coast, concluded in a report called A Gathering Storm that this might represent the front end
of an epidemic of violence not seen for years.
The pilot program in Chicago was successful in that it restricted relocation of poor families to those who worked for a living and lacked criminal records. A wholesale relocation of the underclass, however, only succeeds in destroying stable communities.
Through the Section 8 program, Uncle Sam is the new "blockbuster."
Get yourself out to The Bullet Hole. You can shoot what you bring, (except in their guns of course) and you can rent a machine gun if that suits your fancy.
Besides, you're a Colonel and a lawyer, I'll bet you can afford it...unless you are supporting multiple ex wives or something. :)
I hate shooting indoors, for any number of reasons. I prefer shooting at places other than ranges, but that's hard to arrange unless one has farmer friends or relatives nearby. I have farmer relatives, (my mother in law owns the farm now) but 600-650 miles away. :)
There are other outdoor facilities in San Antonio. You might even be able to use facilities at Camp Bullis or Lackland. San Antonio Rifle and Pistol Club uses Camp Bullis.
FREEP Mail me if you'd like a local contact, a retired Army Reserve Lt. Colonel as it happens.
They won’t charge them with attempted murder. Rev Al, Jesse, and Obama would be decrying the blatant prosecutorial racism.
no doubt...it could be be attempted first degree too since he “called for his boys” it was most definitely premeditated, but our wussy DA’s will probably plea this down to a misdemeanor somehow...
In Texas if the sign isn't in compliance, you can ignore it. At most *if* they see you are armed, they can ask you to leave, and then you must.
In Texas, Taco Cabana, once a San Antonio owned company, but now owned by some outfit in New York City, started posting an 8 1/2 x 11 size version of the required sign. They got the Spanish and English part correct, but their letters and thus the overall sign, are much too small.. and the sign is generally behind the counter rather than at the entrance. IOW, it's an invalid sign.
Interestingly it's known as a 30-06 sign, because the section of the law requiring and specifying it is section 30.06. ;).
Right. Same here. If the signage is out of compliance....we ignore.
As well as they can ask you to leave and you must, as trespass laws come into play.
IF they see it.....that’s why one has a whole drawer full of holsters. Each has a use and and a specific application...
;-)
I don't really care a whole lot about the signage laws. Unless there are metal detectors, all they can do is ask you to leave, if they see your weapon.
I bet if this poor father had been carrying, the bad guys would have run off the minute they saw his piece.
Ever since I moved out of Californistan, my thoughts have changed to the point where now if I can't carry, I don't really want to go there.
About the only inconvenience to date is that I can't go inside the Post Office. I am hoping for a change in that to come as an aftermath of Heller. For now, I just go into the private mailbox place that is closer than the Post Office.
The value of concealed carry is that it evens the odds without ever having to "blast" someone else. If the father had pulled out a weapon, the thugs would have run.
Sure it feels good to sit here on the board and talk about how we all would have blasted them. Its not reality though.
I don't know about your reality, but mine has a .38 in it wherever I go. Can't carry -- don't go. it is just that simple.
I'm glad you liked it. It's happening all over the country, having a huge effect on the cities.
Memphis is number two in violent crime, and number one in property crime. The population of Memphis has decreased six of the last seven years, despite continuing annexation of surrounding communities.
"For those who understand, no explaination is necessary; for those who can not, no explanation is possible".
I’m curious how you zone *certain types of people* out of an area—legally.
susie
I live near Houston too. But the problem is even if you defend yourself lawfully, well what are going to do when the jury is stacked with section 8’s and gangsta moms? (Which is extremely likely given Houston’s demographics and political leanings.)
It seems like a no win.
Why is it so complicated to get a simple point across on this board?
Ok, fine you would have been mister super hero that would have blasted all of the bad guys. COOL! Fine Captain America, more power to you. Since we’re talking hypotheticals instead of reality, I hope you and Charles Bronson hang out in front of every county fair in the country.
On the other hand it does absolutely nothing for everyone to chime in about what a ninja they are when my 16 year old goes to the mall!
Now, could there POSSIBLY be any other recourse for decent people other than beating our chests on a message board?
I think the more important question is “What would you do with a gun at an amusement park?” With all the rides that spin you around and flip you upside down or whatever - I don’t think a gun would stay in its holster very well if you were going on a rollercoaster or something like that. Or, if it was in a purse or fanny pack or something, you’d have to leave them on the platform while you rode, which wouldn’t be very safe either as there would be no telling who could get their hands on them. Of course, you could lock your gun in a locker while you went on the rides, but that would entirely defeat the purpose of bringing it in the first place.
LMAO
