I’ve heard that their signage may not be in compliance with state law

In Texas if the sign isn't in compliance, you can ignore it. At most *if* they see you are armed, they can ask you to leave, and then you must.

In Texas, Taco Cabana, once a San Antonio owned company, but now owned by some outfit in New York City, started posting an 8 1/2 x 11 size version of the required sign. They got the Spanish and English part correct, but their letters and thus the overall sign, are much too small.. and the sign is generally behind the counter rather than at the entrance. IOW, it's an invalid sign.

Interestingly it's known as a 30-06 sign, because the section of the law requiring and specifying it is section 30.06. ;).

Right. Same here. If the signage is out of compliance....we ignore.

As well as they can ask you to leave and you must, as trespass laws come into play.

IF they see it.....that’s why one has a whole drawer full of holsters. Each has a use and and a specific application...

;-)

I don't really care a whole lot about the signage laws. Unless there are metal detectors, all they can do is ask you to leave, if they see your weapon.

I bet if this poor father had been carrying, the bad guys would have run off the minute they saw his piece.

Ever since I moved out of Californistan, my thoughts have changed to the point where now if I can't carry, I don't really want to go there.

About the only inconvenience to date is that I can't go inside the Post Office. I am hoping for a change in that to come as an aftermath of Heller. For now, I just go into the private mailbox place that is closer than the Post Office.
