if you don’t like it,
why not pour part of it into a server for the table?
people wet their panties over the stupidest things.
It looks to me like there is more plastic in each of the new jugs. Sure they ship easier, but that means more solid waste at the end of the line.
Not that I give a damn. If people want to make ‘em, and people want to buy ‘em, it’s all right with me.
Katie Couric sure reports on the important stories doesnt she?
When the current ones were first used, people complained about them too. They prefered the old cartons.
Looks like a great idea to me. Cutting weekly deliveries from 5 to 2 ... what’s not to like? Anybody that whines about the container being harder to pour really needs to focus on more important issues in their lives.
It’s been a while since I dropped my Sam’s Club membership, but IIRC ‘an unpleasant shopping experience’ is an essential part of their corporate culture.
Bought 3 gallons, and saved each empty, They are great for storing latex paints as the containers are stiffer. We also use them to store water on our boat. I prefer them over the flimsy soft ones.
"Tard" refers to the ping list members and not to the subject of the thread!

The base reasoning as I understand it is that the new jugs allow for less transport/storage cost thus should result in savings to the customer. We'll see.
Amy Wise, of Ohio, said the gallon jug spilled milk everywhere.
Now they will store milk 2.5X longer, so you are more likely to buy milk that will go bad faster.
Necessity is the mother of invention. An old saying proven true once again. This is a great innovation that will save time and money. As for those who think all of the money will flow into WalMart’s pockets and stay there, think again. WalMart is a fierce competitor and does not ever hesitate to use reduced prices against their competition. I suspect that within 12 months, the old style jug will be history in just about all markets.
As for Katie Couric, wow, hasn’t she come far these days. Doing the lead-in to negative stories on WalMart. What a surprise.
Looks more like a pitcher to me. Here’s another link, the other was bogged down waiting for ads.

Buy a funnel, or a pitcher. Although the cost of washing these items are going to pass the cost saving on to the consumer, so no cost saving there. And if you spilling 1/8 of what you buy, you aren’t saving very much either. Not to mention the paper towels used to clean up spills.
I think I am thinking too hard about the shape of a gallon of milk.
I love them- Sam’s sells milk quite a bit cheaper. Good innovation Sam’s!!
Looks like if they made the spigot part extendable the problem would be solved. Not too tough.
Are the new containers made in China? Wouldn’t surprise me.
Great idea. I hope someone makes a few bucks from it.
Costco has been selling milk in the same containers for some time. At a buck cheaper than my local grocer, I haven’t found much reason to complain. This is just a Walmart hit piece, and a strained attempt at that.
