Barack Obama Flip-Flops With Fervor

By: David Limbaugh

For all of Kerry's reputed smoothness and Eastern intellect, he often tied himself in knots trying to reconcile his absurdly opposing positions. Obama can flip and flop with unmatched alacrity and facility and with the absence of self-consciousness and accountability of an accomplished sociopath. This guy doesn't even acknowledge he's changing positions; he does it without breaking a sweat and never looks back.

I just ask you to consider the common thread underlying all of these turnarounds (though just a partial list):

a) his condemnation of union contributions to the Clinton and Edwards campaigns as "special interest money" but his eager acceptance of such money for himself as coming from representatives of the "working people";

b) his flip on ending (January 2004) then retaining (August 2007) the Cuba embargo;

c) his March 2004 statement that opposed a crackdown on businesses hiring illegal immigrants, compared with his Jan. 31, 2008, debate statement endorsing such a crackdown;

d) his advocating the decriminalization of marijuana in January 2004 versus his Oct. 30, 2007, position opposing its decriminalization;

e) his jaw-dropping same-day flip on having Jerusalem remain the undivided capital of Israel;

f) his shameless reversal on NAFTA

I always thought regarding Presidential debates it would be a GOP nominee who would demur to participating in this nonsense. I bet it’s Obama, because he simply can’t subject himself to a televised event that allows McCain to suggest differences between the two.

It’s mainly because when he is off the teleprompter, Obama is a blithering, nonsensical idiot in terms of expressing himself.

Press Think Obama's Flip-flops Make Him a Great Politician

By Noel Sheppard | June 29, 2008 - 16:49 ET

For the second week in a row, CNN's Howard Kurtz, while hosting Sunday's "Reliable Sources," seemed absolutely befuddled by the media's lack of interest in reporting presumptive Democrat presidential nominee Barack Obama's campaign flip-flops. Last week, it was the junior senator's change of heart concerning public campaign finances. This Sunday, it was Obama's curious reversal on handguns. After two weeks, Kurtz finally got his answer: the press think flip-flopping makes Obama a great politician. I kid you not:

Media Darling Flips And Flops Way To Center

Normally, flip-flopping presidential candidates have to worry about the press. Not Obama. After all, this is a press corps that heard his grandiloquent Philadelphia speech — designed to rationalize why "I can no more disown (Jeremiah Wright) than I can disown my white grandmother" — then wiped away a tear and hailed him as the second coming of Abraham Lincoln. Three months later, with Wright disowned, grandma embraced and the great "race speech" now inoperative, not a word of reconsideration is heard from his media acolytes.

Worry about the press? His FISA flip-flop elicited a few grumbles from lefty bloggers, but hardly a murmur from the mainstream press. Remember his pledge to stick to public financing? Now flush with cash, he is the first general-election candidate since Watergate to opt out. Some goo-goo clean-government types chided him, but the mainstream editorialists who for years had been railing against private financing as hopelessly corrupt and corrupting, evinced only the mildest of disappointment.

Indeed, the New York Times expressed a sympathetic understanding of Obama's about-face by buying his preposterous claim that it was a pre-emptive attack on McCain's 527 independent expenditure groups — notwithstanding the fact that (a) as Politico's Jonathan Martin notes, "there are no serious anti-Obama 527s in existence nor are there any immediate plans to create such a group" and (b) the only independent ad of any consequence now running in the entire country is an AFSCME-MoveOn.org co-production savaging McCain.

The Amazing Obama Flip Flop Machine

When I ran in Ohio I said I’d can NAFTA. Now that I won, I really don’t hafta.

Gun control was the rule when I ran in DC. Now I think guns are totally cool.

I pledged to support campaign finance restrictions. But that went like some of my other great fictions.

I could not disown Rev. Wright at first. But later I learned there were more votes in the reverse.

A FISA filibuster was high on my list. Now, I think I’d rather desist.

I said I would debate anytime, anywhere. But my advisers think I’d better not dare.

I count on my minions, the Obama supporters, they get so confused yet still give their quarters.

Not a flinch. Not a flicker. Not a hint of shame. It’s all part of playing the Obama game.

If there’s an issue you can bet I will try it: on both sides at once and voters will buy it.

You’ve watched me spin and now you are dizzy. But I don’t really care if you’re in a tizzy.

So many lies and all my jive. McCain can’t stop me, he’s like a hundred and five.

McCain’s still trying to get some traction. But when he points to my lies, I just call it a “distraction.”

I laugh and I smile and charm the voters relentless. And in November, I hope they’re defenseless.

If I con enough voters before they catch on, I’ll have a big party on the White House lawn.

Obama Will Flip Flop on Plans For Withdrawal: Part 2

by Nelsa

June 30, 2008

Back on June 25th I posted about the Obama camps waffling on the issue of withdrawal from Iraq. I pointed out that his surrogates seemed to be leaving a huge amount of room available for Obama to move towards the center on the subject.

From June 25th:

Based on this story in the Financial Times,I believe that Barack Obama will change his mind about withdrawing our troops from Iraq. His decision will be based on one principle. Political expediency. He will "Modify" his plan and mold it in to the most efficient model of assuring the most votes in November.

Apparently he has already started this process:
