Whether it has any bearing on Monday's crunch Euro 2008 match between the two countries is debatable but Austria drew first blood on Sunday when their topless women's soccer team beat Germany 10-5.
The traditional swapping of shirts afterwards was not an option as the six-a-side teams wore nothing but thongs, with the national colors painted on to their bare skin.
The football may not have been of the highest quality but that did not temper the enthusiasm of a mostly male crowd boosted by a sizeable media presence only too happy to desert Euro 2008 training for an hour or two.

This is an outrageous insult to all that soccer stands for! 15 goals in a single game? That's enough for an entire 16 team single elimination tournament. Maybe enough for a 64 team tourney if you don't count tiebreaking penalty kicks as real goals.

This is about the only thing which would make soccer interesting for me.
(But this thread is useless without pictures.)

A friend tells me (ahem) that if you Google “euro2008+girls” you get some results worth studying. The most popular site appears to be down at the moment. You could choose to be studiously neutral.

Soccer - how quaint - call it football and give your local habit of dressing like an astronaut and carrying around pig bladders a more appropriate name (like feminine costumed ball carrying or such)
to the pictures... here's one from real soccer and you can see that this girl has got two very convincing arguments to watch the game: (She happens to be the girlfriend of a german top player)
