I'm currently of the opinion the disaster that has been president Bush for the last few years (yes, I was a supporter of George till he quit being a conservative) should cause Obamanation to win.
I'm all for fighting the war over there. What I'm not for is letting the current congressional majority pass whatever they want and the President not showing any leadership skills with Republicans currently in congress. RINO's like McCain have ruined the party with their descent to moderation from Regan style Republican values.
Obama should win this election so the nation can see the real differences in liberals and conservatives since Bush and McCain have clouded the differences so much. I feel like if Obama dosent win, Republicans will lose in the longrun. If Republicans become a different flavor of liberal, what good are they.
How much did the ghost of Saul Alinsky pay you to say this? Pretty clever, aren’t we?
I think this is what Juan McCain is looking for as well.
Many aspire for the "backlash effect" thinking the Dems will badly blow their chance in power that in the next election the electorate will throw them out. Pat Buchanan believed this when he ran as a presidential spoiler in 2000.
Subtraction = addition does not compute. The Conservatives may win in the next election, but the leftists will have entanglement of socialistic, and other bad laws in place that it would be almost impossible to get back to where the country was before. In effect, the ball still gets pushed leftward.
No, we get a radical rat congress working with a radical rat president to pass disastrous laws. Anything they do will be praised by the lapdog MSM. Obama will get real communists on the Supreme court.
We will get.
Military withdrawal in Iraq, leading to loss of bases and allies in the middle east.
Permanent assault weapons ban along with a supreme court ruling that strikes down right to carry laws nationwide.
National gay marriage.
Major tax increases.
Speech codes that essentially make conservative thought illegal.
$6/gallong gasoline, rationing and mandatory reductions in overall energy use, leading to a depression.
While this is happening, the MSM will praise Obama for his “courageous leadership” and pass all blame to the GOP.
Fat chance!
I agree with the premise. Let's look at this with a historical perspective:
So, if [Jimmy] Carter wins, Republicans in DC will become more conservative??
Heck, yeah! When things go extremely wrong, people will go to extremes. Either for the better (like they did in going from Carter to Reagan) or for the worse (like Lenin's revolution, Hitler's takeover, etc.). Make no mistake: an Obama presidency would be a manifest disaster and what better advertising for the conservative philosophy is there than a beautiful demonstration of what liberalism leads to?
The folks not living in reality who think Obama won’t be that bad are like those who are painting their home and changing the drapes, etc. while their home is on fire.
First things first the fire has to be put out as in WE have a war to win and the issues of serious world affairs.
No other issue matters, if the house burnes down - we loose
This kind of thing has happened before. The “Republican Revolution” occured just 2 short years after Clinton got elected.
If Obama wins, he will do more damage to our nation in four years than you can even imagine.
That’s what you think. He’s a dangerous man with dangerous friends...
Except that I don't think Obama will govern from the radical left. He is not so stupid. He will govern from the center left, slightly to the left of Bill Clinton. The only place you will see far left decisions is judicial appointments. For most Americans, this will mean very little change (as from Bush I to WJC), and so with his smooth rhetoric and media fawning, will easily win re-election. Obama is not going to call for a Socialist realignment of America. That is a non-starter.
So those hoping for an unleashing of radical liberalism from Obama will be disappointed.
And besides judicial appointments, the only other real change will be foreign policy. But most Americans don’t know or care about either. My point is, the damage will only become apparent in the long run. During his time in office, it will all seem fine.
The damage he could do would be felt for many years after he leaves office.
There are enought actual conservative Dems, (about like McCain) that wont let Obama do a lot.
And any liberal that follows obama can always blame the conservative dems for not moving far enough to the left for obama's plan to work.
If the Dems get 60 Senate votes- you won’t recognize this country-
On the bright side- I smell a backlash from fuel prices- the Dems need to be scorched on their blocking energy production for the past 30 years- if needed- throw the Pubbies that voted with them under the bus-
I can't take four more years of Jimmy Carter and I think BO would be worse!
BINGO... America NEEDs to learn by experience Capitalism creates wealth..... Socialism uses wealth UP.. Because generally they are clueless..
The problem with this is that, even if we get four years of Obama, there's no guarantee the GOP will go back to its conservative roots for the '10 and '12 election campaigns. And God only knows how much damage Barack and his commie buddies will do to this country in the meantime.
[Obama should win this election so the nation can see the real differences in liberals and conservatives ]
Dear Lord, what are you thinking??
If Obama wins there may not be such a thing as liberals and conservatives, we may all be socialized INFIDELS!!!
How do you reconcile your current post with what you have on your home page?

I have voted for Democrats before Pelosi, Sorros, Reed and Dean were running the DNC. I can’t imagine a situation where I would vote for a Democrat these days. Every time I hear a Democrat, their talking down about the USA. I fear the loss of most American values under Clinton or Obama or any Democrat’s lead.
President Bush is far from perfect, realistically, what democrat would you have trusted in time of war? I can think of none. “
I still have those fears if Obama wins and I’m not advocating that he will. I think it will cause a conservative backlash. I stated, I’m voting for McCain.
McCain has blurred the view of what a conservative Republican is in my opinion.
