There's a lot to enjoy about this fourth installment of Indiana Jones. It's fun, silly, adventure-filled and completely entertaining in ways we don't always get from movies these days, with the greatest parts coming straight from the marvelous imagination of Steven Spielberg. Plus, it's a summertime blockbuster that doesn't totally rely on CGI which feels practically old-fashioned and I mean that in the best way possible.

But summer kicked off a few weeks back with "Iron Man" (which was cool).
Actually, most of my summer movie viewing was supposed to take place in May this year. Just about all the movies that I wanted to go see are out now.
Geriatric Jones and the Depends of Doom.
Looking foward to it. Prince Caspian is a great movie too.
I hate when sequels rehash what works from the original movie, and I’m hoping that Indy 4 doesn’t do this.
Yeah, Indiana Jones seems so ‘80s to me. Liked the first one, didn’t like the second one. Liked the third one (because of Sean Connery). Maybe I’ll check out the DVD of the fourth one from the library when it comes out later this year.
I was looking forward to seeing the movie but my enthusiasm has gone down after I heard about Harrison Ford doing that silly PSA commercial where he has chest hairs ripped out with tape/wax and saying something to the effect thats what the earth feeels from deforestization...
My 20 year old saw it last night. He thought it was mediocre, and too contrived, relying on too much “old” stuff.
I’ll probably enjoy it more than he did. I really liked Iron Man, haven’t seen Narnia yet, but Narnia is winning the box office $$$ race by a substantial amount.
Seriously, though, every thing that happens in the bar in Raiders happens for a reason and has a consequence, either a few minutes later or a few scenes later.
Contrast that with runaway mine car in Temple of Doom, a pointless sequence with no thrills that went on for two long (were they planning a rollercoaster based on it while they were still making the movie) or the death trap that could be escaped by pulling a lever but it was too icky to stick her hand in. (Which brings us back to Marion. She wouldn't have been skeeved by some icky bugs.)
Between this, Iron Man and Narnia we have been having a blast seeing movies almost every weekend this month.
I’m waiting for it to warm up to go to the drive-in.
How good is “Ironman” folks?
A little side note: A good deal of the filming for this new Indiana Jones movie took place in New Haven, CT, my home state last summer.
Forgot to put quotes around “Indiana Jones”. Me bad.
LOL!
I LOVED it! Stay through the credits. (But bring a snack. They seem to never end)
Thanks for the info, will go and do a search for “Ironman” website.
When I first took my kids, they asked why the people in the next car were "sleeping" through a really good movie.
The trailors that are being shown on TV seem to show Jones killing American soldiers. I’m not sure I want to spend my money watching a “hero” doing that. Am I wrong in my perception? Am I missing something?
