I hate when sequels rehash what works from the original movie, and I’m hoping that Indy 4 doesn’t do this.
Seriously, though, every thing that happens in the bar in Raiders happens for a reason and has a consequence, either a few minutes later or a few scenes later.
Contrast that with runaway mine car in Temple of Doom, a pointless sequence with no thrills that went on for two long (were they planning a rollercoaster based on it while they were still making the movie) or the death trap that could be escaped by pulling a lever but it was too icky to stick her hand in. (Which brings us back to Marion. She wouldn't have been skeeved by some icky bugs.)
I haven’t seen or read about it yet, but I’m expecting to see the first travel scene to begin with an in flight shot overlayed on a map with an animated line moving from destination to destination.
Wife and I will see Saturday.
