Welcome to the new week.
Good morning.
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hager. Best wishes as you start your life together.
The Red Army marches again Peter Hitchens
McConnell:' Dems will turn us into France'Hmmmmm, that reminds me of Monsieur Kerry..
Hey! Great! Thanks, lysie
Thank you for the start and the breakfast.
You are both appreciated!
Talking about knees, these cold damp mornings don't help.
I enjoy your cheerful comments.
OTOH....her various records were scattered all thru the house...important papers in her drawers with her nightgowns...others among old catalogs in the den...that sort of thing...Early on, over 2 months ago, I was sorting out the bottom of her closet...lots of packages of personal care items...I almost missed the very important legal docs we'd been wondering about!
My suggestion for you is to start asking questions, or tackling one small drawer or site at a time. It's a way to start....
I'll check in in the p.m.
YEP! Oh the pain...
Thanks, LB...Later...
I have cleaned up after two major league pack rats. It is a big help. Every little bit helps. The only thing I can suggest to us still living is BE POISON NEAT AND ORGANIZED!
Good morning.
I am still finding things in the most curious places. We have tubs and tubs of papers, photos, canceled checks, birth certificates, death certificates, etc. all hidden away here and there. My step dad was so very organized. But mom on the other hand...(sigh) He died back in 03 so she had 3 years to turn a file cabinet into a pantry!
lysie- thanks for the feast.
Molly- thanks for the links.
You two are busy little workers.
I poured myself a cup of coffee this morning whistling and thought of you.
It makes me want to cry. My mom died 4 years ago and we still haven’t located and gone through all her stashes.
My Mom has a book with a ‘roadmap’ detailing WHERE everything is... I just hope she doesn’t get it out to made an addition to it, and the put it back in the WRONG place.
Mother is a retired school teacher and then later an office manager.
There’s just this accumulation of ‘stuff’. Like a collection of Readers Digest Condensed books from the 50’s and 60’s.
I’m afraid so many of mom’s important family papers are lost forever in her move from her home to her apartment. I wasn’t there when they moved her, but she’ll still tell me my one SIL took a lot of things without asking. Later the same SIL said if mom wanted anything back, she had only to ask.Mom on the other hand says, “why do I have to ask for my own things???” Mom is very sentimental and I’m sure a lot of small things were taken as keep sakes, however mom would have enjoyed them in her own apartment and even down here.
I did find some of the letters from my uncle who was killed D-Day to my dad.
LOL mom had shelves and shelves of Condensed RD books also. She moved probably a dozen of them down here. Along with odd sized, different colored envelopes, pencils and pens. Son went through her pens to find out of a SHOE BOX full, only a few worked. I bet she had them for decades.
