My mother was very capable and handling her own affairs up til the day she fell...One helpful thing she did was keep 2 notebooks full of important #s....phone, accounts, and other info. 1 notebook was for the kitchen where she paid bills...another was for downstairs where she made some calls...but the thing became: 1 for my sister and 1 for me: HUGE help!

OTOH....her various records were scattered all thru the house...important papers in her drawers with her nightgowns...others among old catalogs in the den...that sort of thing...Early on, over 2 months ago, I was sorting out the bottom of her closet...lots of packages of personal care items...I almost missed the very important legal docs we'd been wondering about!

My suggestion for you is to start asking questions, or tackling one small drawer or site at a time. It's a way to start....

Good morning.

I am still finding things in the most curious places. We have tubs and tubs of papers,photos, canceled checks, birth certificates, death certificates, etc. all hidden away here and there. My step dad was so very organized. But mom on the other hand...(sigh) He died back in 03 so she had 3 years to turn a file cabinet into a pantry!

Hillary: When will she quit? Will she quit?

I heard her comment about the race not being over until the lady in the pantsuit says its over.....talk about having a set of brass ones.
