Yes, but the dog, while dumbest among breeds, is still more intelligent than Miss Hilton.
And I also wonder if the test was really set up to fairly evaluate the hounds. They aren't known for being particularly good at things like obedience tests, but they do know their noses and how to follow a track, an equally difficult and useful skill, different part of the brain that has been bred for and developed over the years.
And now for this important DOGGIEPING Announcement!
I've lost my list! I did a deep clean of my computer and I guess inadvertently deleted the folder I kept the ping list in.
If you were previously on my ping list and would still like to be on the list now, please let me know... I am re-building the list from scratch!
>>>>>The chow chow should be the #1 dumbest.<<<<<<<
HEY! Theres a good ole boy over here who resents that and is growling at you right now.
But he is half lab so that offsets it a little.
check post #12...........
I’ve got a Lab that could qualify for “dumbest” dog in the world.......
Put mine on the 10 Stubbornest Breeds list.

Sorry, had an experience with a pure-bred that was worse than a cat. Uh oh, I guess I did it again.
I have a half chow-chow mix that is very smart. And a Lab that is stupid as a rock........
Based on the few I've known, I would have to agree with their assessment of Beagles.
My Australian Cattle Dog didn’t get the memo about being smart. Poor girl.
Threaten him with a ketchup bottle.
ya think that dog does it Paris style?
Cats rule!
Dogs drool!
I’m willing to concede that Australian Cattle Dogs and Australian Shepards are at the top of the list. Anybody who has ever worked with these dogs would put them on the top ten list.
And I’m willing to put a bunch of dogs at the bottom.
But Poodles?? Aw, come on! I’d put my westies up again the poodles and Westies surely aren’t in the top ten. (Plus, the whole ‘foo foo’ thing just makes my skin crawl to the point where I don’t even look at poodles as being dogs as much as accessories).
So let me just apologize in advance to all the FR poodle lovers out there. I admit that I am heinously biased. And although I am unapologetic, I’m sure your particular poodle is undeserving of my skepticism. And I’m sure your grandchild is cute as well. (okay, that was just a gratuitious shot but I did mention that I was unrepentent didn’t I?)
Is an Afghan the Paris Hilton of dogs? Or is Paris Hilton the Afghan of celebs?............
A friend had a basset. Failed obedience school 3 times. Dumb
Beagles? I’m not sure if it’s dumb or they just refuse to be trained. One track minded, chase rabbits or anything else.
I had a border collie, oh I loved that dog. She could read my mind, do things before being told.
Chokes me up thinking about her.
If you have space for them to run, can keep them busy, it’s the only dog to have.
Have to give them puzzles or something to occupy their sharp mind though. They love a challenge.
MOIB ranks German Sheperds as the #1 most intelligent dog ever, not to mention #1 in loyalty.
Full size standard poodles are huge!.......
After 3 Irish Setters and 2 Standard Poodles, I am shocked, shocked that the Setter didn’t make the bottom 10 dumbest. Does anyone know where the Setter ranks?
BTW, the Poodles are really smart. The Border Collie is smarter but is really weird if you can’t run it a lot.
