When I came on FR this morning my configuration had changed. In order to see my sidebar I have to use the bottom scroll arrow to see it. I went to 'configure sidebar' but to no avail. I also went to my account to tinker with 'my preferences'. There are only three options on it now. (1) Thread Pagination (2) Browsing (3)Windows
None of these are any help in getting back by previous layout.
Any help sure would be appreciated.
But of course I'm happy.
It's not everyday you can hear and SEE the Ex-First-Daughter out pimping her Mommy to the Gay Bars in Phylthadelphia.
Keep it up, Chelsea.
And just who do you think coded what "wasn't broke" when you arrived here? And could it be possible that version also had growing pains?
I'm already a dollar a day member, wish I could do more. If we ever hit the lottery, these FReepathons will go a lot faster. lol.
I always felt uncomfortable pinging people. I've only done it a couple of times. It makes me feel like I'm disturbing them, kinda like getting a phone call while you're eating supper.
This works great - you'll see a green check mark bottom right on the status bar - make sure status bar under "View" is "checked/enabled" ;-)
Thanks and thank you for the link.
to see if the world was blown as I slept.
I forgot to add the word 'up' as in 'blown up.' Freudian slip perhaps?
I saw that thread but didn't look at it. Didn't want to be repulsed on a Sunday. lol
These elections, it's like an episode from the Twilight Zone.
And what did it look like before my arrival in '04?
And could it be possible that version also had growing pains?
I have no idea since I don't know what it was like before I got here.
The new FR sucks
Yep. :(
These hiccups are driving me mad. It goes back and forth, back and forth.
My "home page" for years has been actually two pages - Latest Posts and Latest comments.
This way I can page though the latest news and see the Breaking and Front Page stuff on the sidebar in either page plus easily see what FReepers are all currently discussing.
Adding "Text" to the comments page forced me to see every post in its entirety - now at least with this "fix" I keep "Text" ON for Articles and OFF for Comments.
BTW - Did you know in FireFox you can set multiple pages open in tabs and then select Tools/Options/Main to set all the pages as your home page?
I’m in the same boat that you are. Using Firefox for my browser. If you hadn’t said something, I would have figured it was my computer. I am a complete and total computer illiterate and if anything is wrong, I just assume it is something I have done to screw things up. Thanks for posting this before I started messing with things and making everything worse.
Did it but I like the paragraph about the article, not just the title.
Once that thread moves off the page you can switch back to Text.
I just installed it. I had two youtube videos but had to restart my firefox. With Hughes satellite, bandwidth is precious.
OK, thank you. I’ll go back to it and see if my problem gets resolved.
It's the only thing to do.
I'll be back at lunch. Hopefully someone can tell me what happened.
Since just around when the Freepathon started I cannot see the entire screen at one time and have to scroll back and forth, side to side, to even read the articles page, much less see the sidebar. It’s making FR almost unbearable.
I use Firefox and I went into IE and everything looked good, like it should, but I wasn’t logged in, and when I logged in, the screen became too wide again. My hubby’s FR view is perfect on his computer but he’s also got a bigger, wider monitor. I just don’t get it. I’ve tried making fonts bigger, changing my screen size, hitting “Activity” like IronJack mentioned, nothing is working.
Once I click on an article, everything’s fine.
This happened before when you first began the new software, but it went away. Now it’s back.
Any suggestions?
