I'll keep it short, I was laid off last month.
Insurance, mortgage payments etc. will be strapping the finances very soon.
I went for an interview and recently a second.
I really need this job, it has good benefits including overtime.
Working in the manufacturing sector leaves my opportunities very limited here in the northeast.
The wife is starting to freak since we can't afford the Cobra payments and we won't have any insurance.
A wish for some luck (or prayers, is that okay?) would be appreciated.
Thanks to my friends here on FR in advance.
Better watch out, she'll do it!
Praying from here. Hang in there.
Prayers for your success.
FReepmail coming.
All things are possible .. ;)
This is true.....
If you will wait to apply for unemployment for two more weeks, your household will qualify for the above benefits, should you need them.
Should you need them, and you didn't follow the above advice and were honest, you will get zero help/return on the taxes you've been paying in forever.
Been there, done that in '01 (tech crash, Austin).
Prayers on the way for you, #1CTYankee.
Your daughter is an absolute little beauty...but, you knew that!! : ) She looks as sweet as she is pretty too.
/to #1CTYankee (wish I could’ve answered him directly but if there’s a way, I don’t know how, being new to this board) - yes, Cobra’s sky-high, I once did it. Check this out: with virtually all insurance carriers (and you can do this online, google it) you can buy short-term medical insurance, in both 6 month and 12 month increments. It’s incredibly cheap (and you can pay it monthly, not all at once). The only thing to keep in mind is that if, during the period you have it, a major medical problem develops, it could then become a “pre-existing condition” that could prevent you from getting permanent coverage at the end of your temporary term (if you’re seeking it on your own as a self-employed person). But it sounds like you just need this between jobs, and then you won’t have to worry, you’ll automatically get their group coverage, no questions asked. This is the way for you to go right now, get temporary coverage, very inexpensive, even cheaper than regular, permanent medical coverage and MUCH cheaper than Cobra. Good luck and God bless.
It's difficult trying to explain why dad is at home when the little ones go off to school.
It's best not to concern them with it and as far as they know I'm just on a long vacation.
Again, thank you all so very much for the kind words and prayers.
Good luck with your job search!
Again, not that you'll need assistance.
Good luck.
Best of luck to you, I hope and pray you get the job!
Even if you don’t make it, just never give up. You will eventually land somewhere and you will be fine.
Class of ‘98 Freepers are above average is intelligence and endurance. They are able to reason effectively and to act as change agents that can influence debate and decision making processes, especially in the political arena.
Just put that on your resume and the doors will fly open!
A quick prayer heavenward for Divine action on your behalf.
Keep us posted.
Prayers for your financial well-being. Trust in God and the power of prayer. God IS in control
God Bless
Donna
You sound pretty together,so you will do fine.
I’ve had some bad times (lived in my car for a while) then I almost died.
Made everything look better.
Have faith, guts and remember you live in America.
There was some clinical research done a few years back that indicated the power of prayer had some measurable empiracal evidence.
The “scientific” community pooh-poohed the results of course, but I accept them. The collective prayers of Freeperdom for your future success will confirm my beliefs.
It is possible she could (maybe) pull it off, I'm only 5"7 she's 6 ft.
Thankfully I still hold the record in town for the two mile. ;-D
