Good morning everyone!
1000+ Iraqi security forces are fired following the Basra attack. They had refused to fight against the Shi'ite insurgents.
Pres. Bush will discuss the airline inspection debacle with the Transportation Sec. today.
O spent the weekend deflecting Hillary's vigorous attacks over his PA comments from last weekend. Time will tell how successful he is.
Good Morning Everyone.
My Retirement Speech came off without a glitch. We came in on Monday hopeful it would be our last week of work. But the reality is, there’s no way we will be done this week, even working on Saturday wouldn’t do it, I don’t think.
*sigh* I’m ready for it to be overl
Good morning.
Thanks for the BIG breakfast, lysie. Think I could eat it all today.
So, after this session, are you done, once and for all, IG?
What were the reactions to your speech?
Shingles gone?
Hope so!
I’m so excited for you!
My speech was just about the changes I’ve seen in the 16 years I was here.
A couple of weeks ago the Legislature outlawed smoking in public places. When I got here, smoking was allowed in the Rotunda.
Many of the younger ones were facinated with the story of working without computers and cell phones.
I have another ‘project’ on the burner. If I am successful, I will be just as busy as I was before, only I’ll be operating out of my home *most of the time*.
I will continue to REJECT further attemps to get me to jump back into the fray. Either in a similar position or a higher one.
That’s all I can tell you right now.
Mmmmmmmm, thank you !
Good morning. How are you feeling , kassie? When is you dr. appointment?
Young Steve Ducie, asked a question of John McCain during an MSNBC Hardball Townhall Show.
Steve introduced himself, and then asked McCain what he thought about Hillary taking shots of booze. Then asked him, if he would like to join him for some shots after the show.
A second student raised Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton's weekend visit to an Indiana bar, where she knocked back a shot of whiskey.
"I was wondering if you think that she's finally resorted to hitting the sauce just because of some unfavorable polling. And I was also wondering if you would care to join me for a shot after this?" the student asked.
Hoots and hollers came from the audience. McCain laughed, too.
"I did not see the clip of it but I certainly heard about it, and whatever makes Senator Clinton happy is ... is certainly, uh, certainly ...," McCain said with a broad smile, chuckling and raising his eyebrows.
"You know, I've had two of the best questions, or the toughest questions that I have ever had in the last two questions," he said
You mean, you’d have to kill me if you told me?
;o)
Seriously......Best of luck with your endeavors!
Iowa is blessed to have you in their midst.
Do you mean, Steve Ducie of Fox News son?
Yes, it was Steves son.
Steve said that his son is going to be on later in the show.
LOL, they are going to show it in the next segment.
She is something! She got a good dose of morphine for the pain, and it hardly phased her, except to make her speech a little slurred, and so she kept asking me the time, etc., meanwhile, I'm fading fast as it gets later and later, and wish I could sleep...
Bit, I saw your comments about Obama not moving more toward the center.
A couple of things I've read have referenced this also...
I think his earlier persona as a uniter, etc. was a nod in this direction, but he's dropped that lately, hasn't he?
The commentary I've read speculate that he's truly a man of the Left and just assumes that the "masses" will follow him & his ideas if only he can get thru to them....that they leave their "false consciousness" behind & admit their bitterness, etc.
Additionally, I heard Jonah Goldberg yesterday. He says Mickey Kaus has a site named: PivotWatch which has been waiting for Obama to pivot toward the middle, too. So far....not. I'm sure you can find this if you haven't already.
Now I must get going...lots to do, needless to say.
None identified him as Steves son yet.
Peter Ducie asks the second question.
Prayers for your mom, Molly.
Oh dear ((((Molly)))). I’m sorry to read this has been going so rough for all of you. Good that she’s admitted, perhaps they can get a handle on what needs to be addressed.
Decubiti are the bane of nursing care. So hard to prevent even with the best of nursing care. I recall a patient, years ago (decades actually) that had one of the first Blue cross policies written. He developed MS and after a court fight was allowed to LIVE in the hospital because of the coverage this old policy had.
He had a strict schedule for every two hour turning, up in the chair for certain hours (he could shift his weight while sitting which helped) etc. Even with meticulous round the clock professional nursing care he sometimes would develop a Stage I and we’d jump all over it to get it to heal and not deteriorate further. He lived in that hospital room for years.
I’ll keep you and your mom in my prayers dear.
Good morning everybody, I’m off for a walk on a beautiful morning. Unless Mr. Prairie wants breakfast first, I see the hour is a bit later than I’d realized.
You must be totally wiped out today.
Prayers for your Mom!
Take care, sweetie.
Hi LB , how are you doing?
