Oh dear ((((Molly)))). I’m sorry to read this has been going so rough for all of you. Good that she’s admitted, perhaps they can get a handle on what needs to be addressed.
Decubiti are the bane of nursing care. So hard to prevent even with the best of nursing care. I recall a patient, years ago (decades actually) that had one of the first Blue cross policies written. He developed MS and after a court fight was allowed to LIVE in the hospital because of the coverage this old policy had.
He had a strict schedule for every two hour turning, up in the chair for certain hours (he could shift his weight while sitting which helped) etc. Even with meticulous round the clock professional nursing care he sometimes would develop a Stage I and we’d jump all over it to get it to heal and not deteriorate further. He lived in that hospital room for years.
