kassie, I think that is a good decision. In her age bracket things can happen quickly, so if the wait is too long, off to ER where you can get some advice and she can get some help.

Okay, enough on the Petraeus thread, my BP is high enough.

Why can’t the military have it’s turn at publically questioning our senators? Doesn’t that sound fair?

Far more enlightening, and entertaining I’d wager.

I would go with you on that, prairiebreeze. I am so disgusted with the Senate I can't even articulate my feelings.

Molly! Grandchild! Great news! You will LOVE being a grandma! I sure do!

kassie, I agree with prairie. If you don't receive a call soon, take your mom to the emergency room. Better safe than sorry!

Hi All,

I might be the only one here at ATRW that still listens to Blabbity, but I wanted to relay on to you what I heard on his show today. He had J. C. Watts on for a segment Blabbity has his 'good friend' Watts on periodically. The only major objection that I have ever had to J.C. Watts was that he played football (QB) at Oklahoma, and I went to Oklahoma State University, their arch rival, but in politics, that's neither here nor there.

I have always had a slight uneasy gut feeling about J.C. Watts, but today it exploded into a grave concern about him.

When Blabbity started in with the negatives about B. Hussein O., i.e., 'Rev.' Wright, b.H.O's ties to the Weather Underground Bomber, etc., each and every single time, Watts came to b.H.O.'s defense, even referring him, at one point, as a 'good guy' and even using the word 'genuine'. I seriously wonder who Watts is going to vote for between B.H.o. and McCain? He sounded like he is totally in the b.h.o. camp.

The other thing that came blasting through the interview was that either Blabbity was totally ignorant, in total denial, or just plain chicken to confront Watts about those positions Watts was taking.

Sadly, Two-thirds, I have concluded that most black people identify with their race over any other parameter. I would like to be disabused of this notion, but everything I have seen over the last few months tells me it is true.

Hannity does exhibit frequent willful denial and can be hesitant to confront what is said.

With McCain publically saying that Ding-Dong would be a good president, and all the tip-toeing around any criticism of His Blackness by republicans, I'd say we're pretty much screwed.

On that dire note, let me lighten my post with a joke that was just sent to me by an elderly lady-friend. Hope it's not too risque for the thread.

Upon hearing that her elderly grandfather had just passed away, Katie went straight to her grandparent's house to visit her 95-year-old grandmother and comfort her. When she asked how her grandfather had died, her grandmother replied,'He had a heart attack while we were making love on Sunday morning.'

Horrified, Katie told her grandmother that 2 people nearly 100 years old having sex would surely be asking for trouble.

'Oh no, my dear,' replied granny. 'Many years ago, realizing our advanced age, we figured out the best time to do it was when the church bells would start to ring. It was just the right rhythm. Nice and slow and even...Nothing too strenuous, simply in on the Ding and out on the Dong.'

She paused to wipe away a tear, and continued, "He'd still be alive if the ice cream truck hadn't come down the street".

Hi, Dog. I wasn’t ignoring you. I had to talk to my husband in Denver and my son in Chicago. I just got back on the computer.

How are things going with your new job?

I took on one of those hateful posters once, privately, and he totally backed down and apologized. So many people on here just shoot from the hip, and may or may not mean it. I’ve learned to back out of the thread and find another room that I like better.

Did you all see Judith Ann’s post on Sunday? She’s a Catholic (I’m not) and her priest’s serman had convicted her of her sins on this board - speaking in anger to defend her church. She apologized and asked forgiveness. I think we could all use a lot more of that - I mean, this is JUST an internet board people. Everything needs perspective.

I’m not pointing fingers here - I love this thread for it’s civility.

Wonderful news Molly.. and I KNOW you wish they lived closer.. It is hard being a long distance grandma..as I can attest. You have been able to make regular visits so that is good..

Happy for you & for them!
