Good morning!
Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!
Markets are expected to open Down, following news that Morgan Stanley has purchased Bear Stearns, and continued worries about the nation's financial sector.
VP Cheney is overseas on what is probably his last tour of various trouble spots.
Search continues for 3 missing people in the NYC crane collapse area.
Yes, she did. Any moment I expect the MSM to report that. /s
Today was my sister Laura’s birthday....her twin will place flowers on her grave for those of us who can’t get down there..
May happy memories make your heart smile.
That’s just SAD about Bear Stearns. Who would have thought.
Then I read on FR that UBS is considering 8,000 layoffs. The banking biz is in a world of hurt. The company for whom I count beans has funds invested in UBS’s auction-preferred funds. They are now worth - Zero -
Just numbers on paper. They WILL be worth something, someday, I’m told. And, they will be happy to send us loan papers. To access our own money.......
Top o’ the mornin to ye everyone. My german uncle was born this day in 1878, in the the Irish part of St. Louis. He was named Max Patrick. He went by Pat.
So sorry Jemian about your headache. I was hoping you’d be all better today.
<>< bump for reading
Only whites are racist. Blacks are pragmatists. (/sarcasm)
whew! I read your post twice...first read was "I'm sitting here with an ice pick in my head." I've obviously been watching too much goofy news recently.
(((sigh)))
The banks and credit lenders have sold the nation down the river and now we are expected to bail them out. Don’t worry about regulatory oversight Mr. Banks, they only apply to the little guy. Pfft.
Bernancke is a one trick pony. What we have is not a liquidity problem, it’s a solvency problem. The markets know all this, including that Bernancke is a putz, and are responding accordingly.
Personally we are looking at possibly buying some crude oil contracts.
Good morning all, company showing up earlier than expected so I’ve been flying in many directions this morning. Have a good day everybody.
The headache is on the wane, thank goodness! I slept well last night and that seems to have helped.
The way I felt, the ice pick would have been an improvement. This January someone I thought who knew me well complained about a three-DAY headache they had. Three day? I should be so lucky!
Spot on! I would not have continued at the church if the pastor continually said some things I didn’t agree with.
Is this sort of thing preached often at black churches? I assumed the differences were cultural, styles of worship, etc. and not a substantial fundamental difference. Wright preaches a different message than what I expect from the pulpit.

How are her kids doing?
I don’t know why the flowers posted so big. ooopsie.
It’s because I care SO MUCH for you, Dog.
Jem.... Laura'a kids are doing well....one is coming for a visit this weekend....to spend Easter with us.
I sat up staright in shock; then re-read the post. I am glad it is abating some. I know what migraines are like, the letters fun are no where in the spelling of that word.
Oh Dog, that is so good to hear. I can’t post flowers ( as you know), but in my heart the bouquet is as big as Jemian’s appeared in her post.... ((((DOG))))
Jemian, when I was a Methodist we had a minister who told us that Jesus had girlfriends and told jokes in black dialect.
Before leaving the church (which we eventually did) I went to see the District Superintendent to complain.
It never occurred to me to just sit there and accept such idiocy.
