My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

The Russians already had vodka. Some of the world’s oldest stills have been found in Russia, wouldn’t you know.

It has looked like rain all day. Earlier I went into Boston and got back here for lunch after which I got another hour working out in the yard.

Got back in to hear a weatherman say we won’t likely get snow tomorrow, just rain. I wonder how much, at least it’s not snow.

I had an appointment at the lab for my Pro Time test at 2:00. Daughter and I picked up lunch at the grocery store, got home and we ate, by the time she left for home about half hour ago, it had gotten much colder and it was drizzling. Ugh.

My poor bulbs are struggling out there, but better off with the leaves. Oh I was able to get an Easter Lily for 1/2 price today! YAY

I believed it is safe to assume that all who negotiate those kinds of deals wear the same genes.

After making his fortune on and off Wall Street, Joe was one of the first Eastern businessmen to grasp the potential of the movie business. By the mid-1920s, the American film industry was turning out 800 films a year and employed as many people as the auto industry. This was "a gold mine", Joe told several friends. After buying a chain of thirty-one small movie houses, Joe realized that the way to make real money was on the production side. Moreover, he was attracted to the glamour of Hollywood. Not only could he influence the way films were made, he could meet dazzling young women.

Gloria Swanson

- While his wife Rose was in Boston, pregnant with their eighth child, Joe was in Hollywood engaged in his notorious liaison with the superstar Gloria Swanson.
- Swanson was by no means Joe's first extramarital adventure, but she was his first real affair. She was the perfect trophy to symbolize the great worldly success he had achieved.

- Joe Kennedy had become so entranced by Gloria Swanson and Hollywood that when his father PJ Kennedy died in May of 1929, Joe would not leave California to attend the funeral. Joe's cousin Joseph Kane later confronted him saying, "You son of a bitch, you didn't even go to your father's funeral. You were too busy on the West Coast chasing Gloria Swanson around."

A friend, Kane Simonian, observed, "Joe Kennedy didn't attend his father's funeral....When someone doesn't go to his father's funeral, you can believe he would do anything."
