My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Tom, I think Emily wrote this poem just for you!
Good morning everyone.
"A little madness in the Spring Is wholesome even for the King."

You gots yer black vest on? Hemmit? UMbrella? You laugh, but we're on mandatory U-3 and it sucks. Just to go out for a smoke, I have to have the damn vest and helmet on.
And the bastidges keep hitting at mealtimes, so we're on lockdown instead of eating.
I'm never coming here on vacation again. :-p

Greetings from the Bay Area. Hope that everyone is well. Very pretty flowers Meg.

Oh, so cool watching the fox eat bird seed, well, why not, bears eat berries.
Lovely Pansies, thanks Meg. It’s getting time for me to drool over the seedlings that show up in stores this time of year. Pansies being the choice of ohs and ahs.
Cloudy here, but not cold, snow stuff will move in tonight.
Enjoy you nice warm weather.

So you are about to get more of that white stuff. Bummer! Snow can be appreciated around Christmas time but after that, no thanks. Be warm and safe.

Unfortunately, that may be a good thing as suicide bombers have been known to penetrate deeply into protected areas. Be safe and keep your helmet and vest handy. Do they require you to have a MOPP suit? We're already on mandatory U-3. Yes, we have MOPP gear.
Suicide bombers penetrating the FOB isn't the threat right now. We know who's doing this and that isn't one of their tactics.
Mortars and rockets penetrating the Fob is what we're up against now.

Mortars and rockets penetrating the Fob is what we're up against now. Given the times that it occurs (meal times and such), it sounds like a tactic to demoralize the people in the Green Zone. This is similar to the wailing martyrs that I had mentioned in my mail to you.

This is similar to the wailing martyrs that I had mentioned in my mail to you. Oh, it's on our FOB across the river form the Green Zone that they're hitting at (and missing) the chow hall at mealtimes. They want maximum casualites and that's the time and place where a large number of people are congregated.
We've enacted a plan that's outwitting them on that, though.
The poor Green Zone folks are getting hit more than we are.
Thank you for that e-mail, by the way. Very interesting time you lived through in Iran.

Getting out of Iran was a real trip. Our group was reduced to 18 from over 4,000 plus dependents. That is a story all to itself.
