RUSH: I have an announcement to make: Apple corporate called. Somebody from high up the corporate ladder at Apple Computer in California, out in Cupertino, called the office. When did you get the message? When did they call, late yesterday afternoon? All right, they called at nine o'clock this morning, very, very, very nice guy, put my IT guy in touch with them, working -- No, it was not Algore. Ha! No, Mr. Snerdley, it was not Algore. I'm not going to mention the gentleman's name because the Mac user community that hates me will start bombarding this guy. He's a West Coast guy. He called about six a.m. out there and said, "I'm here now," so our IT guy is working with him. That's cool. Yes, it's official. It's not a hacker. It was official. Don't start gumming up the works. It was really true.
It really did surprise me when I found out how early Rush started using macs.
I love Apple and Rush. It sure would be cool to see them get together, eh?
(Excellence In Computing.)
If you want on or off the Mac Ping List, Freepmail me.
When Rush speaks, Apple listens. After all, he is the best free advertisement they have.
Corporate Apple, pedant.
And when the rest of us have a problem with a MAC we just turn to our PC’s.
Is this even considered newsworthy?
I thought Macs were the official platform used by liberals.
It’s not about being newsworthy: this comes down to CUSTOMER SERVICE and BUSINESS: plain and simple, and Apple delivered.
Friendly tonight, aren’t you?
No disrespect meant to Rush, as I find him alternately entertaining and annoying; that's his job.
But there are those on this forum who revere Rush to the point where they would fight have his children. And the women are even worse. ;-)
Some days I think if Rush farted over the air, and announced he was henceforth using Beano, about a thousand Freepers would storm their local groceries to buy Beano, and if by chance they did not already suffer from flatulence, they would by a couple cans of Mexican refries just so that they could.
So is his choice of computer, and travails with same, newsworthy? To a lot of Freepers, yeah...
"Ditto"
Yes, it is newsworthy. If you own a mac you will certainly understand that Rush has been pushing Apple from when they started. Rush has mentioned on his show what he has bought through the year’s and mac lovers want to know how he likes the different models through the year’s. When Rush had a problem, he explained the problem over the air and mac usesrs everywhere wanted to try to solve the problem
Thankfully the Mac corporate came in to help out and Rush explained how they fixed the problem.
By the way, do you own a Dell?
Custom made by yours truly...I don't require the services of Dell, HP, Compaq nor Apple. Been running trouble-free since I began building my own systems 7 years ago at the ripe age of 12 years.
Hardly.
Macs have an old reputation for being used by artists, the majority of whom are thought of as liberal. Windows PCs have an old reputation for being the stodgy, businesslike computer vs. Macs.
But conservatives are practical, independent folks. They don't like being told what to do by Microsoft, because Microsoft so often is wrong, and totalitarian about it too. Apple isn't always right, but their record the past five years makes Microsoft look sick.
In that sense, use of a Mac is a blow against the establishment, whether it be the liberal establishment, or the technological one.
What? Your PC's Media Access Card has a problem?
Keen grasp of the obvious.
It made the news for a couple of days.
Wow that is interesting. We were in the business for year’s selling IBM 86’s in the 80’s. A relative had a resource from IBM that had parts for all the old IBM’s and we did really well for you guys that just jacked up old IBM’s. Nice to hear from you.
Can you work a soldering iron?
