Pushing thru the market square, so many mothers sighing
News had just come over, we had five years left to cry in
News guy wept and told us, earth was really dying
Cried so much his face was wet, then I knew he was not lying

I think the Mayan Calendar ends on that year, there are all kinds of theories on 2012 for some reason, now I’m beginning to see why ...

What is the the supposed significance of the number 2012?The big calendar stone left by the Mayans only gos up to 2012, whcih has led some nutjobs to claim that the world will end that year.
To: Scythian
There is NOTHING in McCain’s positions, or in his speech today, to make any such comparison. McCain agrees with us on every major defense and national security issue, so if you believe our positions will lead to the end of the world in 2012, so be it.

To get more...scary...on you, one theory I’ve heard floated is that the reason the United States isn’t really mentioned (dependant on interpretation) in Revelations is not because we are gone, but because the USA (the President) decides not to participate.
In other words Obama or Hillary say screw Israel and let them deal with it. Without the US over there the other nations are emboldened to pounce on Israel...which anyone who has read the Bible knows what that leads to.

Yes, the Mayan calandar ends on December 21, 2012.
2012 is also ‘the end’ in Hopi Indian mythology. I don’t know if they have any Mayan contact or not.

I really don’t like some of McCain’s other policies, but for defense, he might be your only chance if faced with the other choice of Hillary.
