Yes, the Mayan calandar ends on December 21, 2012.

2012 is also ‘the end’ in Hopi Indian mythology. I don’t know if they have any Mayan contact or not.

Here’s some food for thought.

You’re correct about the Mayan calender ending abruptly in 2012.

According to biblical end times prophecy the anti-christ will have a seven year reign that starts out peaceably and is shattered exactly halfway through that 7 year period and all hell breaks loose.

Jan. 20 2009 forward 3 1/2 years puts us pretty close that Mayan date.
