What is the the supposed significance of the number “2012”?The big calendar stone left by the Mayans only gos up to 2012, whcih has led some nutjobs to claim that the world will end that year.

I’m guessing they’re pretty short on explanations on exactly how and from what source the Mayans possessed knowledge we don’t.
