Remember the series of ads for an Alaskan airline years ago? They were done by a guy whose name I can’t recall, but he was responsible for many of the truly great ads in those days, like “Where’s the beef?”.

One of the Alaskan ads had a passenger boarding and first class was like a scene from heaven, then when he went through the curtain to tourist it was like a scene from a street in Calcutta. Great spot.

They did a VCR, that tells you how long ago it was, game that used his ads as the basis for the game. You watched an ad and then answered trivia questions about the ad.

I have the VCR someplace, I will try to find it and refresh my failing memory as to the guy who made all those great spots.

Wish I could remember some more of his work. He was really creative and oh so funny!

just because you probably dislike the French doesn’t mean she’s ugly; if she’s the ugliest you’ve seen you obviously haven’t flown AA, Continental or Southwest lately they range from everything to sagging, cantankerous elderly with ripped surgical stockings, to young, stupid “widettes” who can barely manage to make it down the aisles and have to do it sideways. Then of course there’s the Oprah look alike only 50 pounds heavier that can’t speak standard english who is fawned over by some california limp wrist near-male “flight attendant” who makes off color jokes only Liberace or Richard Simmons would understand.

room service is a highly dangerous job. i’ve gone into rooms with smoking hawt mostly or fully naked chicks, some really raunchy ones. nothing however was scarier than delivering lunch to a room and meeting ed mcmahon.. in his underwear.

Ah yes! A million thanks. Was it maybe Seidlmyer though. He was truly great. Seems to me like I saw his obit some time back. I really do need to go up and find that VCR tape so I can refresh my memory. He had one about lawn mowers that was terrific, but I sure can’t recall what it was.

He was famous for filling his commercials with genuine-seeming, “normal” actors. Remember the clerk at the counter of a fast-food chicken joint, explaining that their chicken nuggets were “fused”? That they were made out of “pieces parts”?
