looks strange. just browsing around in the South Pole tundra, and well...there is something there. The govt has clouded out the facility.

I found it. It looks to me like an photographic artifact of the stitching process, as it occurs right at the seams of three or four different photos. Different pictures taken under different light conditions, and this part seems to be some kind of overlap at the seam between at least two of them.
