The Hobbit Hole XXXV - ...is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

Posted on 01/03/2008 6:35:58 PM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

That “savings2Go” thing sounds like the “ResevationRewards” thing we got hit by... same thing, a small, monthly fee we didn’t notice right away.

I am not getting the cross-dressing catalog any more. Bummer that. ;~)

I’ve had my credit card compromised before as well. Years ago I was in Scottsdale trying to use my AMEX card. I had to talk to AMEX on the phone to verify it was me. Someone in DC had charged over $800 to F.A.O. Schwarz. AMEX was great and I didn’t have to pay a dime.

At the same time, we had a department store credit card stolen from our mailbox. I had signed up for the card right before Christmas at a store to buy presents for the nieces. I never got the card. Someone used it and PRINTED my signature. I had to get the President to issue an Executive Order to get my account cleared...for $37.00.

Hair, I’m sure g’nad wouldn’t mind if you borrowed his catalog.

Ours isn’t there yet but I think it should be soon. Talon’s ssn ends in two low digits and that’s how they’re doing things. It’ll be nice. We need to pay down the credit card.

Someone activated the system shutdown key on the work portion of my brain. The process is irreversable and takes 72 hours to reboot...

I’m using part to pay down the credit card...and the intention is to use another part to open a savings account, either with my current bank (eehhh), or at another yet-to-be-decided credit union.

We’ll see if I manage that...

My last two digits are 11, and it’ll be direct deposit, but I mailed it in just over two weeks ago, so it isn’t here yet. Got a mountain of medical bills. My medicare part D plan says I’m in the doughnut hole, can only get generics.

Easy come, easy go.

The preview says a major part of tonight’s BSG will be on the Demetrius.

That article in the Olympian reads like it was written by one of the protesters, with only a tiny bit of editing by some supervising adult.

The editor probably had to tell them “No, you should just say it was a ‘bank’ and not a ‘oppressor of the proletariat’, and here at this paper we do still refer to them as the Olympia Police and not ‘fascist pigs’.”

These little nitwits wouldn’t know fascism if it came up and smacked ‘em in the jackboots while they’re kickin’ in some shopkeeper’s windows.

When do regular people get to fight back? Huh?

Is it Battlestar Galactica yet?

Irrelevant. All I know is that I am home, and back in my la-z-boy at a reasonable hour.

Let Caturday commence!!

I'm going here tomorrow.

They’re probably graduates of the commie journalism schools. I wrote better stuff than them in junior high.

That’s good news. It could have been adverse inter-reactions causing the recent spikes.

Yikes! We've had to get new credit cards three times in the last 6 years because of grocery or department stores having had their accounts hacked. We've only had one instance in which someone was trying to use the stolen card number, and the credit union called right away to ask if that was a legitimate purchase. $1200 worth of jewelry ordered from South Korea? I think not.

They did call once when I ordered several pairs of Birkenstocks from a company in Germany. They were hiking shoes, and were a terrific price! So when they called, I assured them that it WAS a legit purchase.

WooHoo! That sounds like fun! Are you going to get some natural wool so you can do some more dyeing yourself?
