GULFPORT --Old Man Winter is expected to bring bone-chilling temperatures to South Mississippi for the next several nights, with lows threatening the record 19 degrees.

The frigid forecast prompted the National Weather Service in New Orleans to issue a hard-freeze warning for Tuesday night, which forced officials in Harrison County to open an emergency shelter for the Coast's homeless and those without heat.

Meteorologists are expecting more of the same frigid temperatures on Thursday and Friday.

The Coast could begin thawing out by the weekend with showers and warmer temperatures creeping into the forecast by Saturday and Sunday

God bless everyone that will face the bitter cold this year. Up here in Maine it’s been a brutal month with more snow than we had all last year. So my thoughts and parayers are with folks who are facing tough weather this year.

Say adios, Grapefruit.

We are back to the times of old here in Western North Carolina- 6 inches and still falling. Nothing like a good Fairbanks Alaska snow, but around here that’s a lot!

Atlanta is supposed to be down to 14 degrees tonight.

If a freeze brings a record low temperature tonight, could
a Gore rant against Global Warming be far behind?

Especially if you’re got to shovel it and drive in the center of roads because they’re plowed so lousy by our local towns.
