Patriots Fan Jumps From Overpass
Incident Shocks Onlookers At Gillette Stadium
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- As stunned bystanders watched, a Patriots fan on his way into Gillette Stadium for Sunday's game leapt off an overpass and fell 17 feet onto the pavement below.
"He thought he was going to land in a snow bank," said one witness to the incident.
NewsCenter 5's Todd Kazakiewich reported that the 20-year old man was on a pedestrian walkway heading towards the stores at Patriot Place about 3:15 p.m.
"All of a sudden he jumped. He was screaming on the way down, then he was silent," said another witness.
The man bounced off the pavement below.
"He was unconscious and unresponsive," said Scott Rogers of Foxborough Fire and Rescue.
A medical helicopter landed on the Patriots' practice field and flew the man to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. Officials there said he was in serious condition.
Police are investigating whether alchohol was involved.
"He definitely had something to drink. I think he had a great deal to drink," said a man who witnessed the incident.
This whole season has taken on a different meaning. Maybe it is the flirting with greatness theme? Maybe it is the fact that they have to win it all to validate fans’ love for the team? I guess winning 3 SBs this decade isn’t enough.
It’s a friggen game, people!!! These same guys woofin on the field will hang out at their mutual agents’ houses, kick back at the Pro Bowl or work out together in the off season. The fans, meanwhile, have to get themselves wrapped up in something beyond reason.
At least he had enough brains to know the girls wouldn't be impressed.
“He definitely had something to drink. I think he had a great deal to drink,” said a man who witnessed the incident.
Beer and the mentality to elect Teddy Kennedy to ANY office is not a good combination.
Last message from mainepatsan was yesterday morning saying he was on the way to the game and I have not heard from him since, hmmmmmm.
MPF-check in, LOL
watching the second half of yesterday’s game it was obvious that the Pats were just trying to break TD records.
Stupid.
Who was that RB though???????
I hope the guy makes it through OK.
Ah, the combination of alcohol and “It seemed like a good idea at the time”. Been there, done that, but I never jumped off an overpass.
Could be as low as a #8 pick, no better than top 6.
Idiocy has no bounds, but lawyers will follow it....
Nope, cheating thru three superbowl runs is apparently not enuff...
running up the scores against sub par oppoenents is apparently not enuff either...
but, that’s belicheat for ya...
You qualify for stupid post of the day....
you reason like a 19 year old liberal
aaaah, namecalling, way to refute what i said....
You are right about one thing...the Pats have run it up against inferior opponents. The Squeal Like a Piggers being one of them.
right, no evidence that we have been allowed to see...
krafts buddy goodell, conveniently destroyed the ‘evidence’, and swept under the rug, the other info, as goodell himself said, ‘of other improprieties’...
funny how you cheatriot fans seem to gloss right over that stuff...
and if roids were used, please show me the players pics where they got big (like ROIDNEY HARRISON??)a la barry bonds???
hmmm, lambert, bradshaw, harris, blier, holmes, ham, greenwood, greene, wagner, blount...
show me those before and afters where they were supposedly using...
hmmmm???
yeah, that’s what i thought...
five rings, five wins. NO CHEATING.
three rings, CAUGHT CHEATING, FINED AND LOSS OF DRAFT PICK....
you do the math....
Sounds like he needs some serious medication.
No, I don’t think alcohol was involved. I think alcohol was in charge.
Thanks for the story. I haven’t laughed like that in a long time.
>_<
Does that make me a bad person?
Well, like the article states:
Police are investigating whether alchohol was involved.
"He definitely had something to drink. I think he had a great deal to drink," said a man who witnessed the incident.
Maybe the bridge wouldn't hold still and pitched him right off.
More completions to the opposing team than to his own receivers.
Cheers!
...oh, and Merry Christmas.
