I've looked all over FR but can't find the "How-to" section. Italics and bold are easy, but I can't find the code to make a link clickable.
TOPICS: Cheese, Moose, Sister; Computers/Internet
KEYWORDS: clickable; howto; links
Navigation: use the links below to view more comments.

HTML tools are available as free downloads. I can right clink in the reply box and the tool inserts the code. Can’t remember where I got this tool however.

The customized FreeRepublic.com server software has a special case. If you include a link in your post, with
no explicit HTML codes, then it will automatically make that link clickable. But add any explicit HTML codes, such as a paragraph mark (
<p>) and the FreeRepublic forum software will no longer automatically make links clickable.
What works either way is the following. If you have a link, say:
http://www.freerepublic.com
and you want to make it clickable, then enter it thusly:
<a href=http://www.freerepublic.com> FreeRepublic </a>
The word or words such as FreeRepublic in the above example are what the reader will see and click on, and can be most anything you like that will make sense to the reader.
The above example produces the following link: FreeRepublic

Not hardly but before you explained it I always used HTML codes to make links with my HTML tool.
