Anti-Mormons Attacks Must Stop, FR is Better Than That (Vanity)
December 12 2007 | jveritas

Posted on 12/12/2007 6:27:59 PM PST by jveritas

Dear FRiends

It really pains me to see some of those vicious anti-Mormons attacks we see on Free Republic disguised under the “freedom of speech. Attacking people based on their Mormon faith is really disgusting and it is an insult to this great forum. People who do not like Governor Mitt Romney based on his positions are free to express their opinion as such, but people who attack him because he is a Mormom should be ashamed of themselves and must not be allowed to do so.

I greatly hope that Free Republic members and moderators will get together and help in stopping this anti-Mormon vitriol, this great Free Republic must not be tainted by these shameless acts.

“and he just seems like a used car salesman to me”

Your antenna are tuned accurately. He is selling the
“used car” of fake conservative positions - of rather
recent vintage.

Better order a Car-Fax on what he’s selling!

But when someone call the Mormons a “Cult” then this is an attack.

How about the Moonies? Are they a cult?
Is it an attack to call them so?

What about the Pagans? Cult or no?

Why should Mormons be exempt from cult status?

Yes, I read that. It was respectful, but I respectfully disagree.

I see.

There were a few thing he said that I found to be very...         direct.

For example:

He even said:

Is it hurtful, disgusting or unkind of me to quote those words in these threads?

I see. You are going to do the "hit and run post" thing where you lecture me and then instead of replying to my question about your bias, you decide it's "time to move on".

Wow, I've never seen that tactic before./s

Psssst.... Pay Dirt agreed with you in your dislike of Mitt; why are you picking on him/her?

Gee, now you even attack your own.

You misrepresented yourself on this post. You posted this as some disinterested third party who just wanted "everyone to get along."

With every post you responded to, you were forced to reveal your true intentions.

Typical unNeighborly insensitivities of your ilk re: not pinging Pay Dirt as you were talking about him/her. (Do you always go around gossipping about folks behind their back?)

Did you grow up in a home where to disagree on something was always a knock-down-drag out fight?

I am more & more amazed at some FREEPERS that to them any opposition or any disagreement is interpreted as you have--an "attack."

What? Didn't your parents teach you how to disagree minus attacking?

“If the anti-Mormon posters would even identify their own faith, it would be a step in the right direction. It’s disconcerting that they can’t even be honest about that.”

I’ve read a lot of these posts. There seems to be a fixation for LDS posters to demand denominational status.

The thing is, Christians think of themselves as Christians first. The Christian denomination they fellowship in is generally secondary. Most Christian churches have some core central beliefs they agree upon, which unifies them as belonging to the Body of Christ (the church).

Mormon teachings fall outside those core central beliefs.

After seeing the contention possible over the heretical things in Mormonism do you think the DNC machine and their media sycophancy will eschew exposing every heresy in Mormonism if they believe it will suppress the Conservative Christian vote?

Which candidate for the GOP nomination stands to gain the most if exposure of the heresies in Mormonism is squelch during the primaries?

Well that is noble of you MHGinTN volunteer to play devil's advocate.

One would think according to you MHG sense the liberals, as in democrats are considered heretics that the Mormons and them would have something in comment!

Eventually people like greyfoxx39 and his little gang will be banned,

Really?

For holding true to Biblical Christian doctrine - we are to be banned?

Hey - I guess I didn't earn the right to speak out in defense of biblical Christianity in the United States of America.

I only spent 21 years in the Air Force as a pilot and fought in three wars. I bet you trump me with your petty little threats.

As I said, with every post you make - you show your true colors.

Did you ever read the verse that "God will not be mocked?"

Romans 3:8

Mitt and the Massachusetts liberals had too much in common for my taste in a presidential candidate of the Republican Party. Were the Rodham-rodent not on the swcene, Mitt would make an excellent Democrat Candidate.

[Keep attacking Mormons with your little gang and eventually you will join the idiots at Liberty Post.]

And your little dog Toto, too!

Yikes, someone has their panties in a wad. Reminds me of the good old days of Don Morgan when he designated himself the thread police and decided what could and could not be said.

Fortunately, my new religion is composed of making voodoo doll effigies of jveritas out of dried apples. I pin notes to them that say “Kick Me! I’m Insane! I’m jveritas!”. This makes me laugh a great deal (I started a Happy religion!), because I know jveritas will NEVER break his own rule and say negative things about another man’s religion.

I plan to worship daily at the jveritas dried apple head voodo shrine, and make fun of jveritas, BECAUSE THAT IS MY RELIGION! Of course, since I am also a presidential candidate, this makes it even more impossible for jveritas to ridicule me, because he would NEVER mix politics and religion and come out and say “hey, you are a flaming monkeyboy, FastCoyote” because it is against the laws of political correctness (and the penumbra of the Contitution!) to say ANYTHING BAD ABOUT THE RELIGIOUS CONVICTIONS OF A PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE. Please don’t let us down jveritas, accept my religious convictions as they are and let my Revelation stand for all to see!

Of course, this is all quite fun, making a religion out of mocking jveritas’ silly ideas and then watching him throw out insults because he can’t defend his position. We can expect the usual sputters of ‘bigot’, ‘cabal’, ‘gang’, etc. because when logic fails, what else is left but name calling?

But in our hearts we all know that when someone presents a logical hole as large as I have presented in jveritas’ reasoning, it really is time to slink away. But of course that won’t happen, that’s why I suspect I will need to keep the iconic “Kick Me I’m Stupid” jveritas religious doll for a long time to ward off the religious bigots who oppose my religion.

A lot more damage has been done to civilization by christians in history. Did you ever read any of the great essays of Bertrand Russel, on “Why he wasn’t a christian”

If the anti-Mormon posters would even identify their own faith, it would be a step in the right direction.

Just as soon as I toss my hat in the ring for the presidency of the United States.
