Dear FRiends
It really pains me to see some of those vicious anti-Mormons attacks we see on Free Republic disguised under the freedom of speech. Attacking people based on their Mormon faith is really disgusting and it is an insult to this great forum. People who do not like Governor Mitt Romney based on his positions are free to express their opinion as such, but people who attack him because he is a Mormom should be ashamed of themselves and must not be allowed to do so.
I greatly hope that Free Republic members and moderators will get together and help in stopping this anti-Mormon vitriol, this great Free Republic must not be tainted by these shameless acts.
Point out an example.
Perhaps where I pointed out that there can be no religious test for a presidential candidate but individual voters could make any test they please. My only remark on the thread to that point and for that I was called a bigot and Mormon hater.
I just found some stone tablets up on Mount Sinai and am starting a new religion based on em.
Signed,
Moses
I missed the word SEEN, I wanted to say “ I am sure you have SEEN some of the super....”. My apologies.
No problem, thanks for clearing that up!
Amen.
Freedom to proselytize but yet not be criticized on errors.
Maybe you can start a world wide religion and have 13,000,000 members. I doubt it though.
Just leave the mormon attackers alone, OK?
Actually the anti-MORMON is a new military device
It is used to attack Military Ordnance Radio Marked Offensive Napalm devices.
Basically the anti-MORMON consist of dogs trained to sniff out any and all indicators of jellied gas from people who eat beans and pray a lot.
Most of them are liberals and RINOs who do not own guns. They usually blow themselves up when they see the anti-mormon dog approaching them.
I expect to see a lot of explosions over the next few days.
I reinerate. Ritt Momsey will rue the day he ever gave that stupid speech that everyone said was great. I think it was astoundingly stupid politically. It will mark the beginning of the end of Ritts campaign in years to come.
We don't want to go there. Trouble is, free speech must allow for things like 'bigotry'. Else, it isn't free.
Having class is another thing. People here should at least keep that in mind.
Said, people who join or act in any way 'cult-like' bugs me. (Said didn't need to be there, but I liked it better than 'That said')
Go to Mitt Rommey threads. Enter “Romney” in FR search and you will be shocked.
I haven’t read one either. What in the world is this about????????????????????
“Maybe you can start a world wide religion and have 13,000,000 members. I doubt it though.”
13 million is small potatoes! L. Ron Hubbard has gone beyond
that (far beyond) in a hundred less years... and he too wrote
fiction.
Debating religion has been and should continue to be part of FR. If people do not like mormonism, so what. Plenty of folks do not like Catholicism. I welcome the debate.
There should be no sacred cows here, not even Fred Thompson. LOL
“That is exactly what I am talking about?”
God only knows... You don’t make any sense.
I on the other hand have had it with the Bahi’s!!!!!!
BTW, on a Morman website it has a very large statue of Jesus with the following words:
"The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints"
sw
L. Ron Hubbard started in 1954 and has 10 million members...much better success rate (started more than 100 years later!).
Sunday morning I would slick back my hair and hie myself thither. I didn't care what denomination it was as long as it had good Christian fellowship. Like as not, in the small towns, it was a Mormon (LDS) church. Sure, I would cock an eyebrow at some of the doctrine and hope that there wasn't the smell of stale whiskey on my breath but I was always recieved warmly and made to feel welcome.
As time went on I began to seek out the Mormons. I shared most of their values. I met some crooked ones and some good ones but no more of either than I would find in a Baptist or other church. I'm still not Mormon and don't hope to be but I am not going to challenge their doctrine. It works for them and that's good enough for me.
