Wow. IIRC that’s at or near the upper limit of the sentencing guidelines, so they hit him pretty hard.

well, the prosecutor recommended 12-15 months i think. the judge went over the sentence recommendation which is pretty out of the norm.
vick has waived his right to appeal so this is set in stone i guess. proves judge believed vick was the mastermind.

the media made it a point that this judge owns and loves dogs. no one thought it was a good thing for vick obviously. justice for the dogs.

The sentence first has to survive the appeals process. If it stands, I believe Federal sentencing rules require something like 80% of the sentence to be served before you can be released. Perhaps someone with specific knowledge will chime in.

I don’t know...I thought I heard 12-24 months, but that may have just been the “expected” sentence instead of the actual guidelines. Most of the so-called pundits have been saying around one year for quite a while, though.
I think he’s done, because after two years in prison, the NFL may slap him with an extra suspension. Maybe at some positions he could come back from a three-year layoff, but not at quarterback. Not that he was that great a “system” quarterback anyway—he did what he did based on his own God-given talent as a runner and scrambler, not so much as a steady passer.

Guidelines MAX = 5 years....
Prosecutor recommended 12-18 months on the plea deal...
Sentence = 23 months to serve....
(Hangin' judge!)
That's gonna leave a mark...
Good news in the shadows:
The Falcons will have 23 months... (basically 2 full seasons...
No VICK!!
(I doubt they would take him back anyway...)
I am certain the phones are ringing in Suwannee...
Even as we type (badly...)

i think he waived the appeals process. that's at least what ESPN is saying. whatever sentence was imposed by the judge was the last word is what they are saying. i guess he wanted to seem like he was ready to accept responsibility and get a lighter sentence.
but like all criminals, he's just sorry he got caught.
To: thefactor
I despise Michael Vick, but DOUBLE the sentence recommended by the Prosecution is absolutely insane.
Michael Vick is a bad guy, but two years in prison for a PLEA BARGAINED DEAL is just too much.
The score of this Football game...
