BRITISH women have the biggest breasts in Europe, a survey revealed yesterday.

The poll for bra maker Triumph found that only in this country did more than half the women need a D cup or larger.

Percentage of women wearing cup size: D C B A

France 26 29 38 7

Our 57 per cent including curvy model Kelly Brook put the rest in the shade, with Denmark second on 50 per cent, then Holland with 36 per cent.

Smallest were the Italians where 68 per cent had a size B.

The Swedes and the Swiss had the largest number of A cup sizes at 14 per cent.

Average breast size according to Frederick’s of Hollywood
Lingerie manufacturer Frederick’s of Hollywood reports that in 1996, the average size of bras they sold was 34B. Currently, the average is a 36C. Now, granted those who purchase lingerie from Frederick’s are not statistically representative sampling of American women. Nonetheless, this change is extremely interesting.

Similar data about the increase in average breast size comes from the UK, where busts grew from 36B to 36C between 1997 and 1999. According to The Penguin Atlas of Human Sexual Behavior, breasts across Asia grew from 34A to 34C between 1980 and 2000.

According to the information we have available, here’s how average breast size in America breaks down:

AA cup: 2%
A cup: 15%
B cup: 44%
C cup: 28%
D cup: 10%
DD cup: 1%
So the average breast size is something of a Bell curve, with B cup right in the middle.
