Let the great gnashing of teeth begin! As a Sox fan, I'd welcome A-Rod here---Lowell at third and A-Rod at short would make for a fantastic left side of the infield.

I heard his agent is suggesting 300 million dollars worth of contract for this guy that can’t perform under playoff pressure.

Wow. I’m old enough to remember when Pete Rose became the first 100,000 dollar SINGLES HITTER in MLB.

And MLB wonders why its no longer ‘America’s Game’?

Sheesh, talk about a complete and utter disconnect with reality.

Well, there's a big "superstar gap" now in San Francisco... ;)

But I think any team would be foolish to overspend on A-Rod. Baseball isn't a sport where one player can win a World Series, no matter how hot he gets at the right time.

That would be the perfect kick in the teeth for Johnny Demon’s betrayal.

Stay far, far, away from A-Fraud, he’s clubhouse poison.

“As a Sox fan, I’d welcome A-Rod here-—”

Be careful what you wish for:
Boras is a blood sucker and A-Rod is a cancer. Don’t forget, when you get A-Rod, you get Boras. Also, everywhere A-Rod has been, they haven’t won, and since his big contract, they have under performed. When he was establishing himself with the Mariners they were decent, but still didn’t win it all.

I wouldn’t want him.

He’d be crazy to leave the Yankees. He’ll make more than 25 million per year in marketing products, commercials etc IF he stays in that market.

If A-Rod opts out of his contract his days as a Yankee are over. And he might be surprised at how few teams are interested in paying him the kind of numbers Boras is talking about here.

Boras negotiated Rodriguez’ record 10-year, $252 million agreement with Texas before the 2001 season, a contract the Yankees took on when they acquired A-Rod before the 2004 season.

This statement isn't exactly correct. The Yankees didn't take on A-Rod's entire contract when they traded for him in 2004 . . . the Rangers are still paying a huge chunk of his salary every year (this will no longer be the case if he opts out of the deal). This is probably the only reason the Yankees made that deal in the first place (historically, the Yankees have gone to great lengths to avoid doing business with any player who uses Scott Boras as his agent).

“I think Alex could play very reasonably until he’s 45..."

I'd expect him to play better than " very reasonably". The Sox don't need a C-Rod. ;-)

Good bye GAY Rod! Take Jeter with you!

Happiness is New York without the Yankees.

Lowell at third and A-Rod at short would make for a fantastic left side of the infield.

Unfortunately for the Red Sox, there's a very good chance Mike Lowell will be the next Yankee third baseman if Rodriguez opts out of his contract.

I heard he might sign with Team Dubai...

No A rod, don’t leave NY, Texas, Seattle...

Oh, man, pro sports is lamer than anything I can think of. Would rather buy a nice toy, and have my kids fight over it. That would be sport, and don’t even have to pay for it.

IMO and I have no direct information but I am thinking that pretty boy Payrod "uses" roids or probably HCG......

he has never had a big build, seems to me that his head and his features were smallish when he first came up.... he was tall, but not that muscular....
