My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

I saw a record breaking snow on an April afternoon last year here at home ..I was in Houston during the bad Texas ice storm in January ..and it only lasted half a day there.
Snow is magical.. I don’t see much here if at all. I have seen one good beautiful snowfall here that covered everything .I see a lot of green here in winter so that’s good.
I avoid driving on ice...I will stock up if ice is forecast so I don’t have to drive.

Very god idea, we do that here because often the first real storm we get of the season is the infamous Halloween (or there abouts) Blizzard.

In the land of Glen Gaul Way
winds played softly through the dale
pipes were playing mournfully
their sound floating
high up the grade into the open castle doors
while my lady slept
The news was brought
the war was fought
the master of the manner lost
for time evermore
the moon pulled the tides
smashing against the high cliffs
as the darkened skies carried
the sad refrain
emptiness and gloom surround
the glen the hounds cried out
their master downed again
the winds in anger
hurled insults buffeting
the castle walls and the old
stone once stood proud now
crumbled from the news
and the stars of the glen
stayed under a blanket of
black velvet not to shine again
the master of the glen silenced
as natured rebelled against the
injustice of the loss.
Listen to the heart sobs
from within the walls
the creaking of the decrepit
halls, the age of chivalry
now long dead and the hounds of hell
hung down their head.

Thanks, I feel it is not a strong poem, for me it does not have the power I want to convey. Of course, it has been a while since I visited the Glen in writing sooo maybe this is a warm up. ;0)

Good morning everyone.
Song
Tho' veiled in spires of myrtle-wreath,
Love is a sword that cuts its sheath,
And thro' the clefts, itself has made,
We spy the flashes of the Blade !
But thro' the clefts, itself has made,
We likewise see Love's flashing blade,
By rust consumed or snapt in twain:
And only Hilt and Stump remain.

Hi Meg, greeting from the North East and sunshine!
Nice frame, but I do think the double Pomegranate has a lot more punch. ;0) Both beautiful color though.
WOW I was a lazy one this morning, slept most of the day away. I feel ashamed of myself for that, should I LOL?? And was I ever stiff when I finally dragged meself out of bed. Yikes, felt like I was hauling a lumber wagon.
To: Soaring Feather
I woke at 11am LOL..I slept 10 hours..The sun just came out here..I am getting spoiled with this great weather.
I posted the single because Johnn asked what a single looked like..The double is more beautiful.

The champagne days of autumn Bubble up in golden swirls Cold and crisp, teasing the palate With pleasing memories Of romping in piles of burnished leaves And watching the maple tree send Red memos down to earth.
The smoky smells of autumn Etch my autumn memories. Nights like splashes of cold water, Moonbeams gold-plating the treetops, Frost-coated pumpkins waiting in the field For purpose in their life Leave anticipation over what happens next.
I drink in cold air. It tastes like a good whiskey And sears my lungs. I turn my face toward stars Scattered like leaves across the sky And offer a prayer of thanksgiving For autumn.

What is going on here! What put us all to sleep? I slept 13 1/2 hours last night!
My nose is stuffed up and I have a headache. Is one of you spreading a cold?

Thanks for posting both the flower pictures, I like the double better then the single. I have to agree that it has more visual impact. I like the flowers that appear here, often they give us a chance to see them in really impressive ways that make them more dynamic. I know for myself that I have researched several for our window flower boxes from what I’ve seen here. Us non-green thumbs need all the help we can get!!!!
