The champagne days of autumn Bubble up in golden swirls Cold and crisp, teasing the palate With pleasing memories Of romping in piles of burnished leaves And watching the maple tree send Red memos down to earth. The smoky smells of autumn Etch my autumn memories. Nights like splashes of cold water, Moonbeams gold-plating the treetops, Frost-coated pumpkins waiting in the field For purpose in their life Leave anticipation over what happens next.
