JANEANE GAROFALO is jumping from the animated big-screen success of 'Ratatouille' to the small-screen action on "24."
According to the Hollywood Reporter, she will play a government agent who teams up with series star KIEFER SUTHERLAND in the upcoming season.
Although best known as a comedic actress, she has taken dramatic turns on "The West Wing" and in the mystery-thriller 'Stay' with NAOMI WATTS.
Janeane is the second major cast addition to "24"'s seventh season. CHERRY JONES -- who has also appeared on "West Wing" -- was cast to play the new president last month.
Production starts on the new season in September.
This, to me, is a grab for ratings at the expense of the base.
But hey, we conservatives are used to this by now.
I won’t be watching the next season either.
It is just a silly TV show. No one should make it out to be anything else.

Seriously though. I don’t know what it is about her that doesn’t make me mad like other liberals. I’ve seen her films and she was good in them, especially “Copland.”
Shhh! I like that movie too. I also like Janeane Garofalo in things I have seen her act in. I like Johnny Depp as an actor,too, and sometimes Leonardo DiCaprio (In “Catch Me if You Can” and “The Aviator”. never subjected myself to “Titanic”). Doesn’t mean I would want to go out to lunch with any of these people.
