CLEVELAND (AP) -- Talk about your pushy New Yorkers.
Strutting into Jacobs Field for the weekend, the Yankees made themselves right at home. They bullied the Cleveland Indians before leaving with three wins and the same confidence that has made them champions many times before.
"I feel like we're the team," Andy Pettitte said.
When weren't they?
Pettitte didn't have much trouble with Cleveland's lame lineup and Jason Giambi homered for the second straight day as the Yankees beat the Indians 5-3 to complete a series -- and season -- sweep on Sunday.
Written off in May when they trailed first-place Boston by 14 1/2 games, the Yankees pulled within four of the Red Sox, who lost 6-3 in 10 innings at Baltimore. It's the closest New York has been to the top of the AL East standings since April 24.

It’ll be the biggest choke in MLB history — from 14.5 games up to not even making the wild card. ....and Yankee fans will be reminding the RS Nation of that fact until the Bosox win the WS again, which should be in about another 86 years.

And the Tigers win!
Pussycats ahead by 1/2.

The Tribe goes from a 1/2 game lead in the division to third place in the Wild Card race in one day.

WHO GIVES A SH-T! The Yankees and their yuppie douchebag friends will be spending their October talking about getting rid of Torre, not watching baseball.
Don't get me started on the Murdoch Media's virtual fellating of the Yank-offs.

Cool that puts the Indians back down a game to the Tigers.

Pales in comparison. Not in the same ballpark, not in the same league. This choke will be infinitely worse.
Meanwhile, since the end of WW1....
Yanks: 26 WS titles.
Red Sox: 1 WS title.
Enjoy that one, 'cause that's all she wrote.

Still touchy about the asskicking you received in 2000, eh Clemenza?
Mets fans -- perpetually bitter, and for good reason.

I'll send you some Baklava if that is true.
Happiness would be seeing some new owner moving those douchebags to Vegas where they belong. It would be an improvement over that GHETTO they currently play in...

Only 50% of Yankees fans are die hards. The rest are ditzy broads and yuppie transplants who will dump the team once they move back to whatever hellhole they came from before they invaded Manhattan.
Remember, in sports, HISTORY MEANS NOTHING!

Pretty disgusting performance - still, a lot of baseball left this season.

It seems that Yankee haters are either born or made.
Growing up in Detroit I remember the Yankees coming to town and even when the sucked the Tigers got swept. Going from 2 games behind to 4 games behind.
Yes I hate the Yankees, but I have good reasons....
