Fortunately for them, logging a Trouble Ticekt involves filling out a form in one’s internet browser, so the extent of the “chewing out” is pretty much limited to “SHOUTING” IN ALL CAPS.

"I suppose that I may as well have included a demand for a solar-heated, kidney-shaped swimming pool, and a beautifully restored Third Reich swizzle stick, but I figured I’d let ‘em off easy."

Is that supposed to be a "swagger stick"?

Like the kind Mel Brooks smacks himself in the leg with, and then waits for the other person to turn away before he grimaces in pain?

A swagger stick? No. This is the kind one typically drowns in a cocktail.

That would be a swizzle stick all right.

But I have evolved beyond the need for such, as long as I stick to the drink I invented.

You stir it with your finger.

It was supposed to be a sanitary award.

Those masks certainly do cut down on the CPR "ick!" factor. I keep a small scale model in my pocket in case I ever have to answer the call of duty.

Good Morning to you as well,

Morning.

Going to Wal-Mart today?

When do you start school for the kids?

Have fun at Wal-mart!

We’ll start the second week of September, after our vacation.

Where are you going on vacation? Someplace fun?

We took a vacation when we lived in MO, and drove down to TX to visit one of my brothers. I couldn’t figure out why he was always home when I was there....HE took a vacation, too, so he could spend time with me! I was so touched by that. :o]

(Most of our “vacations” were transfers. A change is as good as a rest, I guess!)

We’re going to Lake Norman, which is on the north side of Charlotte - less than an hour from home! (This is good, because I’ll have to come back for Girl Scouts :-). We’ve rented a house for a week.

That sounds like fun! Sometimes, just getting into a new enviroment for a few days does wonders for everyone.

One of my brothers rented a motor home and drove down from Idaho. He had six kids, at the time. Now, of course, the number is 10 and I long ago lost track of his grandkids!

His daughter, who is the same age (I think) as mine, just became a grandma.

Some people really rush through the generations :-). My family has tended to have children later than average for several generations. I had my first baby at 24, and that was unusually young.

My best friend had her first baby at 16, and she is now a great-grandma six or seven times. That’s scary!

I’m looking forward to seeing her when I go up for the reunion. We’ve known each other since we were five.
