The leaves won’t even begin to fall here, until the end of October to mid-November. Then it may take all “winter” for them to drop. They’ll probably be pushed out by the new leaves, closer to spring.

Leaves have already begun to turn and fall here, though it’s due to heat/dry stress. The fall colors are still many weeks away.

We just got groceries and diapers, and we’ve all finished the book. I’ve started reading it again, among other things.

I read most of “Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe” at the coffee shop on Saturday, so I hope I can check it out of the library this afternoon to finish it! We also have to go to the vegetable stand for tomatoes and bell peppers.

Well, that’s encouraging. We have spiders, too - big wolf spiders about 1-1/2” across, just strolling around the rooms after we’ve been out. About one a day!

I don’t know what the spiders here are called, but they get up to about that size. Webs everywhere outside...

The tomatoes and green peppers from the vegetable stand sound really yummy!

I’d love to get some local tomatoes. Don’t know anyone who planted them, though. We don’t have roadside stands here, except the “moveable” ones where we have to use pesos....

I’d be afraid of e-coli. at the peso stands.

Peppers at the vegetable stand are less than half what they cost at Wal-mart, and the tomatoes are much nicer.

I suppose if you washed it very thoroughly with hot water and disinfectant soap, you might only get a stomach-ache.

You know, there are others....

HOW TO SPEAK POLITICALLY CORRECTLY ABOUT URBAN FOLKS

He’s not from “DA HOOD,” he’s from a “LOW COST REGION.”

He doesn’t drive a “JUNKER,” the car is “ECONOMICALLY ACCESSIBLE.”

That isn’t “GRAFFITI,” it’s a “PUBLIC ART EXHIBITION.”

He’s not “HOOKED ON DOPE,” he’s “CHEMICALLY DEPENDENT.”

They don’t “LIVE IN THE SLUMS,” they are “ACCESSING STATE SUBSIDIZED LOW-INCOME HOUSING.”

That’s no “BUM,” that’s a “DISPLACED PERSON.”

That stuff all over the streets isn’t “LITTER,” it is “EVIDENCE OF AMERICAN CAPITALIST ANTI-ENVIRONMENTAL EXCESS.”

Oh, sorry. Worng list. Most of this stuff isn’t funny; it’s REAL.

So that’s where all that stuff came from....? Who thinks this stuff up? I mean do they actually spend TIME on this?

I was raised to say that if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and swims like a duck, it’s most likely a duck. And sometimes, it’s legal to shoot them.

WHAT?! Actually have people running around saying precisely what they mean? Why, THAT could undermine the entire liberal push toward Socialism!

So that’s where all that stuff came from....?

Wouldn't surprise me. I think I told you that I am having to take a "Diversity" class and some of the stuff that is pushed there has to be read to be believed.

Half the time I am laughing and half the time shaking my head. Sweetie always knows when I am doing my required reading because every now and then I will bellow, "What? That is the dumbest thing....."

Although their pretzel logic when one of their "subordinate groups" (Apparently they are not minorities any more) comes in conflict with another is roll on the floor funny.
