The most feared professional poker player, ******* was eliminated from Day 1c of the 2007 World Series of Poker. After his stack was whittled down to around $35,000, ******* came over the top for all his chips after a Kh/8c/Ac flop. His opponent called and showed Ah/8h for two pair, while ******* had a flush draw with Qc/9c.
The 3h and 6s on the turn and river didn't complete *******'s flush and one of the most feared players in the game has been eliminated. Sportsbook.com had made ******* one of the favorites to win the 2007 World Series of Poker with 75 to 1 odds.
*******, also commonly referred to as The Tiger Woods of Poker, was born in California in 1976. Later, his family moved to New Jersey and it is here that he mastered his poker playing skills. He learned how to play poker with his friends and family. Realizing tough times before his poker career and during the earlier days of his career, ******* has come a long way in the field.
******* argues that his early career was difficult before playing poker ******* had difficulty making ends meet financially. A far cry from the days when he could barely meet his bills, ******* has literally scratched and clawed his way to success and is seen here with Gambling911.com's sexy reporter Jenny Woo at the 2005 Full Tilt Poker WSOP Party at the Wynn Hotel & Casino. *******s total winnings to date are nearing the 7 million dollar mark.
******* has won World Series of Poker bracelets and 15 first place finishes. He is often seen at the final tables in the World Series of Poker tournaments and in 2006 he was part of The London All Star Challenge of the inaugural European Poker Masters. A year prior, ******* won a million dollars in a Monte Carlo tournament and the very next day, in The FullTiltPoker.Net Invitational Live from Monte Carlo added an additional 600,000 dollars to his winnings.
Currently living in Las Vegas with his wife, whom ******* asserts is tremendously supportive of his poker endeavors. ******* is a noted fan of the Houston Rockets and the Los Angeles Lakers. His hobbies, ironically enough, include golf and video gaming. ******* adores the challenge presented by poker, considering the game a quest.
Poker Ping!
Freepmail me if you want on the Poker Ping List.
I'm not surprised. This game probably still growing in popularity.
Some people on the list politely asked for it, so I did my best to accommodate.
Phil Ivey-pokers version of the Buffalo Bills
Except Ivy has won braclets and other tournaments. The Bills have won nothing.
Not the big one
I guess you would consider TJ Cloutier the Buffalo Bills of poker as well then, and more so than Ivey. He has been around for decades and never one the big one.
Works for me.
I’m not complaining. It is appropriate considering how popular this game has become.
Speaking of Stuey, I just finished reading a very solid tome entitled "One Of A Kind: The Rise And Fall of Stuey "The Kid" Ungar". A great read, even if you already know Ungar's background and legendary stories.
There are several big names in poker who did not survive their day 1 at the main event. With the fields being so large it is very hard to survive even if you are a very skilled player. There are a bunch of donks of whom some will suck out and take out a big player.
If you want to see some other big names that are out just scroll down.
(From memory)
Mike “The Mouth” Matasow(sp?)
Doyle Brunson
Jennifer Tilly
Liz Lieu
Greg Raymer
Eric Sidel
Jennifer Harman
Sammy Farha
Jacobs (cant remember his first name)
Negreanu gone. Gus Hansen is still my favorite, though.
Oh well. The main event is now luck, no more skill involved.
