Actually this list itself ain't bad, it's just most of the songs that are [deleted]. But not all, of course -- there's plenty of yacht rock to love. And who better to rank these tunes than VH1? There must be some holdovers from before the celebreality pox. Tomorrow night, Video Hits 1 will air their televised countdown of the Top 40 soft rock tunes, but go ahead and take a gander now and see if they hit the Marx.

Say what you will about this list, but we're with #1 (love us some Chris Cross). Also, whatever happened to the Yacht Rock guys? Weren't they developing something for VH1? Maybe they'll talk about it when it airs tomorrow. Too bad we won't be watching.
That’s the one! :-)
Good tune. Stuuuupid lyrics.
Gold was (is) a fine guitarist and excellent arranger/producer. He produced and did the guitar work for Ronstadt's "Heart Like a Wheel." His father wrote the them song to "Exodus." His mother sang in big Hollywood movies for lip-synching actresses who couldn't sing.
He joined up with a 10cc guy in the 1980s to form Wax. They had some up-charge hits UK-wide ("Systematic," "Right Between the Eyes").
If we're looking for soft-pop schmaltz, why isn't Dan Fogleberg this list?
Hey, pissant...thanx for the CBOTW earlier...NOW...would you happen to have a pic of the back side of this album?
From Dennis Leary:
"Judas Priest was on trial because (whining) "My kid bought the record and he listened to the lyrics and then he got into Satan and blah blah blah blah!" Well, that's great. That sets a legal precedent. Does that mean I can sue Dan Fogelberg for making me into a p*ssy in the mid-seventies? Is that possible? "Your honor, between him and James Taylor, I didn't get a BJ until I was thirty-one years old. I was in Colorado, wearing hiking boots and eating granola. I want some money right f'ing now."
A list w/out Muskrat Love is merely a piece of garbage.
Dan could out cheese alot of these guys.
Alas, I do not.
A travesty.
You know how I know you’re teh ghey?
Cause you’re husband told you?
Before coffee, jeez.....
[Im Hooked on a Feeling right now.]
Better version is the Unka-Chacka version by Rusted Root.
By far the best background vocals ever.
03. Rupert Holmes - “Escape (The Pina Colada Song)”
Yuck. One of the worst things ever put on wax.
I was on hold yesterday and the company had The Last Farewell by Roger Whitaker playing on hold. Sorry, it’s a great song.
“There’s a ship lies rigged and ready in the harbor, Tomorrow for old England she sails...”
Dennis Leary is only second to Sam Kinison as my hero
They left out all classic music from the list
I have to admit, Roger Whittaker is a guilty pleasure. There is just something about his voice. And the lyrics are pretty cool, too. His Christmas songs are the best. Save this post for I will never admit this in public again.
The cooing part.
Nibbling on bacon, chewin on cheese,
Sammy says to Susie, honey, would you please be my missus?
Hey Piss, I love ya.
