There are two - count 'em two - premieres this week, "The Ex-Wives Club" and "The Starter Wife," that are so demeaning to women that I propose we declare this "In Praise of Parasitic Women Week."
Both shows celebrate women who marry well for a living and then have the nerve to whine about it. [snip]...

I guess somebody has their panties in a twist because the women are being “maligned” this time rather than white men.
Check out the number of white males on TV continually made to look stupid, bumbling and helpless if not worse most of the time.
Every see that TV commercial with the group of old white men bankers fenced into a little corral and portrayed as greedy and stupid being led around by a black man? OK, now reverse the races, a white man leading a group of fenced in black men made to look stupid. What would Jesse and Al say?
Imagine the outraged outcry, protests, boycotts, marches, cars burning etc.
There is a new season of Footballer’s Wives too, but I can’t watch that shite.

That is one of my pet peeves, as well. And I let the sponsors know about it from time to time. I was pleasantly surprised to see a Home Depot commercial recently in which the husband says that he’s going to HD, and she tells him to promise that he won’t go wild. He tells her he can’t make that promise. Good for him. (BTW, I am a woman.)

Bad-News Bears would have been better. As a retired Army Chaplain who did a lot of marriage counseling, most of what was done on that show I would NEVER recommend as therapy. Outrageous!
I doubt if they care about the efficacy of anything they recommmend. It is just a trashy show for ratings value.
White males are the only group that is politically correct to bash these days. There are several Washington Mutual (bank) commercials on TV in California where there are only white males in a ‘pen’ watching minorities conduct business in the bank. I found these offensive from the get-go. I am also a woman.
I have not seen that commercial, but I agree that many, many commercials make white men look stupid and/or evil. I have seen some that also take aim at black men, as well. I live in Maryland, which has quite a few well-educated, highly paid black men and women, so maybe there’s a connection there.
The couple in the Home Depot commercial I referred to is black, BTW. To me, it is not putting down either the man or the woman, but it is showing the man saying that he’s not going to be bossed around. Quite refreshing.
I suspect that we get the heterosexaul white man bashing because of the prevalence of individuals in the advertising industry who are, like many in the news media, against hetero white men, plain and simple.
