As we settle into the nighttime of despair, fret not, for the Sun will rise again!!
Good morning!!
We, here, will never forget those who died on September 11, 2001, as we seek to protect the Republic from all who will do her harm!!
Unfortunately, the latest non-amnesty amnesty bill made it passed the cloture hurdle and on to debate. This is truly a sad day for America. Crime, apparently, can pay if you wait long enough.
We must be taking lessons from the French--we appear ready to surrender to the invading illegals without firing a shot.
In that light, how about a common sense suggestion--instead of legislation that provides legal status to millions who don't even respect our laws, how about a Constitutional Amendment along the following lines:
Section 1: The provisions of this Constitution apply only to those people who were born in the sovereign territory of the United States, those who have entered the said territory through lawful means, or who are the children of those who were either born in the sovereign territory of the United States or who have entered the said territory through lawful means.
Section 2: All people who are citizens of the United States upon the enactment of this Amendment are considered to be in the United States through lawful means.
Section 3: The Congress has the authority to enact appropriate legislation to enforce this Amendment.
Section 4: This Amendment will enter into force provided that three-forths of the several states shall concur in such within seven years of passage by the Congress.
Just a thought...
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
Good morning, Toby! You have freepmail....and I have a new tagline.
Section 4: The Executive Branch shall have sole authority to enforce the legislative Provisions of this Amendment, as enacted by the Congress.
Then renumber your Section 4 to Section 5.
Sorry, Toby. I took off to clean the kitchen a bit...load dishwasher, etc.
You have FReepMail...
Tremendous post. Thank you so very much, toby.
“Folks, this country is in bad shape, being sold out by the pubs, most anyhow. It has long been sold out by the dims but we expect that to happen, it is the pubs who are plowing us under, sad, sad, sad...
“I am afraid that folks in this nation still do not understand the radical Muslims want to do to us in America, or do not want to realize that they want to kill us or, dont believe they will do such a thing. We are putting this dangerous situation in the hands of the dimwitts and thay think it will not happen here, so wrong.”
Good Morning. Hectic pace here today.
I’m working on the Memorial Day Speech I need to have ready by Friday, so I can get myself comfortable with it.
Unfortunately, there are frequent interuptions, which makes the project difficult.
Good afternoon ..............to all.
I am back from the doctor....all is well...just getting older (which is a good thing), the doc said my aches and pains were from too much gardening....and I agreed!!
Iowa Granny, I am sure you will do great in your Memorial Day speech.
gulfcoast, I miss the usual banter on this thread too, but it is close to summertime and most of us folks love gardening, so bet lots are outside enjoying themselves.
I’m so happy to hear your appointment went well.
[President Carter’s] combination of naivete and cynicismfrom open-mouthed shock at Leonid Brezhnevs occupation of Afghanistan to underhanded support for Saddam in his unsleeping campaign of megalomaniahad terrible consequences that are with us still. Its hardly an exaggeration to say that every administration since has had to deal with the chaotic legacy of Carters mind-boggling cowardice and incompetence.
Awesome paragraph - accurately recalling for anybody who remembers the Carter administration (during which I was in the AF) why he was so BAD a president for this countrys history, and why he is widely acknowledged as the worst president ever. For anybody who does not recall his administration, or has no clue about why hes considered the worst, that paragraph gives them a place to start their research - and the remainder of the article helps them flesh it out a bit.
Must read - must print - must show - and, by the way, this is the type of presidency we would witness if sKerry (or Ron Paul, I believe) were to be elected.
Oooooooh! I would love to hear that speech! Good morning, I.G.
Thanks for the article, Peanut Envy..AFPhys....I will read it, print it out, and pass it on.
I agree about your view of Carter, we were in the Navy during Carter’s years....and I will never forget how he treated military folks....sure left a bad impression on me.
Thanks, I was too! ;o)
More annuals planted....now I need to make a list to be careful when I go back to the garden store & not get too many...running out of room. LOL
IG, good luck with your speech. Make it a zinger!
Bee, I went to the dr., too: got zapped in a couple of sun-damaged spots. UGH...
Toby, all...I appreciate those who still are posting here. You're more precious to me than you know
And at the same time, I understnad the reasons for those who've chosen not to.
Hi Molly! Big thunderstorms here all day.
Is not Bennett a mind-saver these days?? Sanity delivered with strong doses of humor and decency.
Some of us have active accounts on more than one web site. I find FR much easier to navigate.
I am holding my breath as to how we’ll recover. We’ve recently lost a lot of good folk. One person I am truly worried about is JRAndom. He hasn’t been seen anywhere.
Excellent, Molly! Yes, I have to have that mental relief every morning.
I would add a couple more words, "Sanity delivered with strong doses of common sense, logic, humor, and decency."
Talking about TWC, I only watch on the 8’s since they have started this global warming thing, this Dr. Cullen, looks like a left winger.
Jemian, I used ...some 4 years now...to have /john's address. I'm sure it's no longer the right one. I join you in concern.
Toby, that GW nonsense on TWC makes me gag! I avoid it too, but I love to watch the rest of the weather,& since I have so many dear ones scattered over the country, it's one odd way I stay in touch!
Well, my husband is home for an early supper, then he's going back to the office, and poor me, I get to watch the Indians play the Tigers!
And speaking of Kyl, and this "immigration" bill. It's my firm belief that he's played the good soldier to have some input...some commonsense input into this bill, even if a little. He may have to bail, tho, and he made it clear that his support wasn't automatic.
Jemian, Sessions has been superb on the matter. He's for making a stand, taking the matter to the people, making the strongest possible arguments for security and enforcement of our borders...for the Law.
Senators such as he need our help, so I'll be calling for you, since you can't!
Bennett is an outstanding interviewer. He is courteous and considerate to his interviewee, while asking the toughest questions with elegance.
