For a long time, Itzhak Bars has been studying time.. Einstein's theory of gravity and quantum theory don't fit together. Some piece is missing in the picture puzzle of physical reality. Bars thinks one of the missing pieces is a hidden dimension of time... With two times, Bars believes, many of the mysteries of today's laws of physics may disappear. Of course, it's not as simple as that. An extra dimension of time is not enough. You also need an additional dimension of space... Other dimensions could exist, however, if they were curled up in little balls, too tiny to notice. If you moved through one of those dimensions, you'd get back to where you started so fast you'd never realize that you had moved... Something as tiny as a subatomic particle, though, might detect the presence of extra dimensions... Adopting the more symmetric two-time approach may help. Describing the 11 dimensions of M theory in the language of two-time physics would require adding one time dimension plus one space dimension, giving nature 11 space and two time dimensions. "The two-time version of M theory would have a total of 13 dimensions," Bars said.

And to think that the puzzle came about all by itself. Yeah, right.
So that’s what the two timer looks like.
Interesting.
Seems to this layman . . . given that there clearly IS SOME sort of time in Heaven per the Heavenly visitors who’ve returned to tell about conditions there . . .
that is . . . things do not ALL HAPPEN AT ONCE. There is SOME sort of linearity of a time sort . . .
Yet Heaven’s time is clearly NOT OURS. Evidently ‘days’ spent there can equal minutes here or some such.
Perhaps the fellow is discerning some keen reality.
Cumrun Vafa and P.S. Wesson have led the way on multiple temporal dimensions. In Vafa's as in the one above, it is an extension of the Kaluza/Klein compactified model. In Wesson's the extra dimension (5 dimensions, 2 time) is expanded, i.e. a higher dimension.
The Creator's perspective - uncaused cause of space/time/physical causality etc. - is timelessness and spacelessness.
OK, that’s 2 articles in a row I’ve bumped. Please put me on this string theory list.
It’s another ‘gaseous Vulcan’.
M-theory isn’t even well-defined, being instead a vague collection of proposed patches to string theory that still hasn’t produced a testable prediction (or, maybe has—in which case it’s been proved wrong since we don’t observe the ‘dilaton’), so now Bars proposes to patch M-theory (whatever that is) with a second temporal dimension.
More cynically, M-theory is a way for string theorists to keep sopping up all the grant money, even though their theory has failed for 40 years to produced any actual progress, rather than allowing funding to be diverted to any of the radically different approaches like Connes’ recovery of the Standard Model from noncommutative geometry, or the more algebraic approached to quantum gravity of folks like Barrett, Crane, Isham, Rovelli or Smolin.

That’s a pretty unique Blackboard...mst be some warp in the time dimension....
The second dimension of time, similar to extra physical dimensions, is very tiny and possibly rolled up and hidden. In terms of duration, the second dimension of time is the interval between the traffic light turning green and the guy behind you hitting his horn. Intervals this small are very hard to measure, which is why we only conceive of the one time dimension.
Many of the principles of logic would disappear also.
It may not be my place to say this, since I'm not a physicist, but stuff like this can only come from an overeducated pinhead...
BTTT.
Interesting read. Thanks for the ping!
Interesting but.. I can’t help think that, to expound on my analogy of String Theory further, they have simply decided to start using their left hand, backwards..
With planar time causality goes away. Cosmologists know this and it has been around a long time unless time is planar in which case it’s hard to say.
The premise of this thread and most of the comments make my head hurt.
