(CBS) NEW YORK Walking in high heels just became a lot more comfortable for women. A Philadelphia woman has created the high heel shoe with an adjustable heel.
Women love the way high heels make them feel, but at the same time they hate the way high heels make them feel.
One woman gladly said, You look pretty much better in pretty much everything youre wearing in heels. Another complained, "I start to get this burn on the ball of my feet after wearing them all night."
Women routinely trade in Stilettos for sneakers, choosing comfort over style. Now that type of comfort is a click away.
You simply would just pull down on the lower half of the heel, you push straight under and then push straight back, said Lauren Handel, inventor of the Camileon Heels. "People have been trying to do this for a very long time, but it's such a difficult thing to do."
The Camileon heels allows you to go from a three and a quarter inch heel to a one and a half inch heel in seconds.
Handel created the shoe with the help of her brother, who is a doctor in Philadelphia. He took care of the technology a steel rod in the heel, with a flexible, yet sturdy leather sole which allows shoes to flex while walking.
The sister was responsible for the style and manufacturing, which she took to experts in Italy.
Theres no one like the Italians when it comes to footwear," said Handel.
It feels like a high-end shoe, but it's actually two high-end shoes.
"It takes a half a second to get used to the fact that you're in the same shoe but at a different height."
Women who have a long-term love affair with high-heeled shoes now have a viable solution to the problems that come with them.
The shoes start at $260 and go up to $305.

“Hey there beautiful, I see you’re wearing ‘f-me pumps’...”
“Not as far as you’re concerned, jerk!” (adjusts heels to flat)
Do women wear high heels to be taller, or do the spike heels serve some other purpose? If a flat-bottomed shoe that angled the feet were acceptable, such a thing could be accomplished to easily allow considerable variation in the heights of both the front and back.
OK, not really.
Ow. Just ow.
They looked like they were designed around Benito and Clara's time in the sun.

Heh. How old are you, son? Yes, it makes them taller, and no, that’s not all high heels accomplish.
Germany's first 'Stiletto Run
Shoppers on Germany's main street may have wondered if the summer sales had just started as a hundred girls in high heels sprinted down the Kurfurstendamm in Berlin. The girls were taking part in Germany's first 'Stiletto Run which may have looked glamorous but was torture for some of the 100 specially chosen participants.
"It really hurts, like running on coals," said Gabriella Lusa as she limped away from the finish line. "You have to try and keep your balance, it isn't like in trainers where you have stability, but you wobble about, it is all so unsteady, but if you train a bit it is ok," said the winner, Nadine Sonnabend. She had taped rubber strips to the bottom of her shoes.
The heels had to be proper stilettos, at least 7 cm high and a maximum of 1.5 cm wide. Overall dress and the shoes themselves were also part of the judges criteria, but for some the style value was still lacking. "It is a bit funny, I hadn't thought it would be so fast, but the style which counted for the race, not the speed, but it was soon over, I was surprised," said spectator Eric Michaelis.
