I was just out in one of our state parks for the weekend. 90 + degrees, yep, it’s finally spring (been a very mild March/April this year.)

Thanks, folks, I hated to retire, but it is survivable, so long as I ain’t stuck with TV as my only inspiration. I reckon I’ve learned more cool stuff in the last few years than I did in the 60 years before, and I’m not finished yet.

Not quite the kind of chicks I had in mind.

Oh, wait. Spring break is *over*, isn't it?

Cheers!

If you like taking pictures of birds, you would probably enjoy Pelican Island. It’s south of St. Augustine about midway down the state. See www.fws.gov/pelicanisland/

YEAH, know where it is, thanks. What you may not know is that if you are gonna run around as a birdwatcher, no way can you be an ex duck hunting redneck republican.
Well, Hell, don’t hunt anymore,still a republican!
Friend, I slap ass guarantee you that if I haul my Redneck tail into the middle of a local Audubon meeting, all Hell is gonna bust loose!

LOL Glad to hear you quit hunting ducks (I’ll probably hear about that statement ;-), but as far as “rednecks” go, you would be right welcome down here in Sebastian (home of Pelican Island). I’ve never attended an Audubon meeting, so I can’t comment on what they are like or if a redneck would/wouldn’t be welcome. There are several bird watching paths around this area, and you don’t have to be a member of anything to enjoy them.

BTW, our screech owls are nesting right now. If I knew how to post a picture, I would show her/him to you. They have nested in our yard for the past 10+ years. We’ve lost one pair of babies when they fell out of the nest year before last. They are so cute; little fuzz balls.
