I hope Atlanta picks that 20 year old DE from Louisville. The Kid is not only brillant, but 20 years old. He started in Division I football at 15. Only and let me add I believe he graduated from college at 19. I love it!
BWAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!!!
Brady looks like he’s about to ralf. Mel’s eyes are about to disappear.
Howdy folks. Well this has been quite the boring draft thus far huh? /major, major sarcasm
Patriots will pick Poslusny..
The Deeetroit Lions go for local boy-genious QB Drew Stanton (Farmington Hills High School, Michigan State Spartan) for their second round pick.
This is not really a shocker - the Lions love to go with local talent, to help keep the seats warm. (”Look, there’s our boy getting steamrollered down there in the real-live NFL!”)
It is also useful as local doctors are already familiar with their bodies before they get decimated playing for the Lie-downs.
Stanton isn’t a bad player, and he did a lot with a not-so-great line at MSU. Of course, this points out that the Lions actually desperately need an offensive line and a solid defense, not hot backfield talent. But hey, they guaranteed the ticket sales again!
If Marcus Thomas stays clean, Denver may wind up with the steal of the draft.
I was watching the draft at Hooters in Nashua on Saturday with a couple of friends.
We’re big time Pat’s fans. I boldly predicted that the Pat’s would select Brandon Meriweather with their first pick (24) and Jon Beason with their second pick (28).
When they selected Meriweather, they ribbed me as a lucky bastard. Then in the very next selection, Carolina took Beason so they commenced ribbing me even more.
I then boldly stated to look for the Pat’s to trade their pick since Beason is of the board. Two picks later when NE traded their pick to San Fran, all the ribbing stopped. Now they think I’m the draft guru or something but I admit it was just BS luck.
On an end note, kudos to San Diego, Brando Siler as a seventh round pick was an absolute steal. IMO he has all the makings of an All Pro Line Backer.
