Right you were.
Too bad Cleveland sacrificed its first round pick next year to do it.
Well, from Phil Savage's perspective, if he can't make something happen this season, he won't be around to use that first round pick next year anyway. Bill Cowher will probably be sitting in his chair.

I doubt Cowher will come back, and even if he does he won’t come anywhere near Cleveland.

It’s win-win. I hope the Browns lose next year first, though.:)

It is possible that Dallas can be a Super Bowl contender in this upcoming season and still get the first overall pick in the 2008 draft.
Heh. So I'll be cheering for the Cowboys and whoever plays against the Browns.

Trust me. That pick your team just got will be very good. Not Top 3 good, but very good. Probably like #8 overall. The Cowboys had no needs really at all this year because of good fortune and good offseason moves. Next year, they probably will. They can fill that need with a very good college player. Or they can bundle their two 1st rounders and get some stud RB like Darren McFadden, from Arkansas. Dallas is filled with Razorback fans (like Jones is), and McFadden could win the Heisman this year after coming in #2 in voting this year. Jones probably dreams of McFadden (a guy who can score every way you can score— return TD, passing, catching, running) in a Dallas uni every night.

Didn’t realize Spikes had gone to the Eagles. This will be his 3rd team. Sure wish he could keep a job. :)

Probably not McFadden. We’re pretty loaded at RB right now. J. Jones just got his first 1,000 yard season. Our backup, Marion Barber III, had double digit TDs. We may look at WR (I don’t know who is out there for next year, maybe Sweed from Texas), regardless of what we do this year. Looks like the Boys just jumped back into round 1, BTW.

JJ can make the deal. If you could just keep him out of the coaches chair they would be in good shape again.

And my Boys just scored the Browns #1 pick next year. Things are looking up.The Cowboys trading down is not a surprise. Did anybody here ever read the fancy report by an economics professor talking about how teams overvalue top picks.
If anybody cares, I'll share it. If nobody cares I will completely understand.
